Pros

I loved my coworkers and am still friend with many of them after leaving the position.

Cons

Be warned, this company is cut throat and will fire you for not keeping up. They're technically not "commission based" but you have metrics to hit or you won't get your bonus and WILL be in hot water. They expect you to have your head down at your computer all day long, talking with customers, and you have to record "interactions" with customers. if you don't hit your metics you will get in trouble. I've seen people get yelled at on the sales floor, people crying in the bathrooms, etc. They will try to convince you that it's a great place to work with free soda water and snacks, but at the end of the day dehumanize you. They are a self proclaimed "mini wall street", and will work people fresh out of college bone dry for little pay and tell you "that's how a start up work." I was told I would be a technical expert just to end up as a grunt salesmen. Expect cold calls and data entry all day long. This job destroyed my mental health. Be very wary.

Pros

Mostly great coworkers Good experience for recent graduates

Cons

Used to be a fun work environment, until a private equity firm purchased the company and set the rules. They have turned Xenon into a profit factory and are squeezing the life out of its employees to increase earnings while withholding raises and bonuses due to the current market. Changes are since Jan 2022, and restructured everything, read the documents you sign closely. Not competitive salaries Bonuses based mostly on activity rather than sales creation Upper management is "big brother" Requires in office 3 days a week in downtown Bellevue without paid parking. Parking in the building is $27/day, they provided $180/month (pre-tax) for travel expenses. The office consists of "hoteling" desks and sitting in islands of three. No privacy and extremely noisy/uncomfortable and surrounded by new construction. Never thought I would wish I had a cubicle... I was also never reimbursed for my home setup even after several requests. HR and culture committee events that felt cheesy and forced (maybe a pro to some) Everyone was given shares of the company after 3 months, until 2022, now it's only given to upper management. Middle management has little influence to run their team after PEF and is forced to relay the agenda of upper management with little exception. Creates the problem of bureaucracy. Upward mobility is possible with this company, but there's only one defined path up if you are in sales and you will have to kiss the ring of upper management (metaphorically speaking)

Pros

work-life balance stock options nothing else, and I mean nothing

Cons

First of all they will try to convince you to work here by telling you all about the great work/life balance they provide, great advancement opportunities, and how you will get stock options, both of which are true. However; they refuse to share the strike price or how many outstanding shares there are which all but makes your options worthless. Don't worry, this company wont be successful and you wont cash out anyways so its all smoke and mirrors. That being said, the work-life balance and stock options are the only positives. They like to hire highly qualified engineers and then give them mundane cold-calling phone sales jobs which are in no way technical. do not be fooled by the technical sales title, it's just one of many lies. Your day will literally consist of you manually entering orders into ERP, summarizing sales calls in CRM, and dealing with shipping problems for customers, THAT IS ALL YOU WILL DO!!. You are basically a glorified secretary. On top of this you will be micromanaged to death. Prepare to be asked what you are doing on the hour every hour with your manager breathing down your neck all day, EVERYTHING YOU DO WILL BE QUESTIONED CONSTANTLY!!. Did I mention your manager will have never worked in a sales position yet then proceed to tell you how to do your job. You will also be promised quick advancement, but do not fall for it, just another lie. There is no room for advancement here. You can write off everything I say about this place thinking it will be different for you, but that would be a mistake. I know, I did the same thing as I ignored the bad reviews and took the job against my better judgement. I am here to save you from the same mistake. Do not work here you will regret it. I was a highly paid engineer in charge of multi-million dollar projects with a great deal of responsibility and they treated me like an incompetent child. Do yourself a favor and trust the reviews here, do not take a job here.
