Pros

Yardi is an alright place to start your career in energy and sustainability. You get good exposure to real estate energy management and sustainability and gain some basic skills that help you further career at other places... not at Yardi. Culture is warm and collaborative and the people are overall very friendly. Decent benefits too.

Cons

Simply and bluntly, Management doesn’t value employee growth, they do not reward employees for doing excellent work, pay is very sub par for other similar roles In The job market, company doesn’t value continuing education. I invested much time and money to gain certifications for personal growth within the company and they did not reimburse you, even though they claim they have that education reimbursement policy. The management style is extremely old school and do not trust their most capable analysts working from home even though directors have noted that WFH has been the most productive time for Yardi. They make false promises by saying if you compete certain tasks that you will be promoted l, but neither myself or my colleagues have seen it happen. For a tech company, there are so many cons that display lack of flexibility. For some analysts, the higher ups have an unrealistic expectations for account managers that drive them to exhaustion and quit... sometime without another job. It’s quite disappointing that Directors outwardly state that there is not a retention issue. The company prides itself on”sustainability” however does not embrace it within client offerings like sustainability consulting which is just a catch phrase for consulting on the broken reporting dashboard that they offer to clients.

All company salaries are benchmarked against quantified Radford salary data and our wonderful benefits include 100% paid health care premiums for employees, a FSA plan, generous 401k profit sharing, paid parental leave, great discounts to a variety of places both near and far, and more. We also offer competitive time off (PTO/Vacation), paid holidays, and floating holidays throughout the year and believe in using this time for a positive work-life balance. Our eLearning team is continuously working on classroom trainings and online classes to help employees grow, as well as regular trainings for managers. We offer tuition reimbursement which applies to your current role or a future career path at Yardi that you would like to explore. We are very transparent in job postings and career growth and encourage employees to schedule time with HR if they have any concerns or ideas on how to improve their experience. Best of luck in your future.

Great Company for New Grads

Pros

Profit sharing, vacation condo rental, professional development, FSA, no cost for basic medical for single employees, low cost medical for families, tuition reimbursement, great in-office perks, company events, typical holiday offs.

Cons

New leadership training/development needed, promotions are not based on merit but favors. Pay is very low--not market competitive for a SaaS company. Must wait 3 years before getting full profit-sharing match. Must wait 2 years before getting option for condo rental. Three week PTO overall for the entire year--that could be better since employees aren't allowed to work from home for balanced family home life.

We’re glad you appreciate many of the wonderful perks Yardi offers, including annual tuition reimbursement and discretionary bonuses for strong performance. Without knowing your location it's difficult to comment on management. Promotions are, in fact, based on proven product knowledge and merit. We are continuously offering training for managers and hope if employees do experience any concerns, they make HR aware. Our 10% profit sharing is very generous and while Yardi employees do have to wait three years for the full benefit of profit sharing, they begin receiving a prorated rate starting their 2nd month of employment. Some companies make employees wait 3 years before vesting at all. We use quantified Radford Salary data to help us stay on top of benchmark trends for our positions and take pride in offering competitive wages, benefits and a friendly, respectful work environment. We encourage you to reach out to our VP of HR to further discuss your concerns. Thank you.

Pros

Great Location Great People Good Benefits Great Culture

Cons

Serious employees with serious professional goals will find that promotions are not merit based but rely greatly on the manager 'liking you' and your skill at being positive. Personal performance is often dismissed when it comes time for reviews over promoting positivity in the culture.
