Pros

I'll try to keep it short: Kind and Helpful Co-Workers Relaxed but Professional Environment (casual dress code) Free Espresso Machines Fun Holiday Event to keep moral up Effective Team Leaders and Managers Sincere Interest in your Career Goals and will work with you to reach those goals Amazing Benefits and lots of Holiday's off It feels like you are part of this big family who will help you grow. Set Hours with one hour lunches Employee Gym and Showers for the Corporate Office located in Goleta Lot's of parking Walking distance to lots of local business's Fun

Cons

There can be favoritism between Managers/Team Leaders and their employee's but nothing that would be considered as an abuse of power. Sometimes Management has a hard time accepting new idea's. Other than that there aren't really any Cons. If you are in the right department for your personality and skill sets you will have any amazing time here. I left the company because I accepted a position on a different team and it was a bad fit and there was not exact end date as to when I would be able to transfer to a team that better suited my needs. Hopefully I will be able to apply to Yardi again in the future because I miss the Culture and all the amazing employee's I interacted with.

Pros

Nice people and good product for now

Cons

- Old technology - Terrible Management - No equity - Low pay, no 401K match, and low commission rates - Arbitrary sales quotas that are only attainable in certain business verticals - Competition fierce while Yardi is complacent with market share - Employee growth is driven by acquisitions not retention - Company is extremely cheap beyond reason

It sounds like you were not satisfied with your time at Yardi. We work to have the newest technology available and value our employees very much. Sales employees receive a base salary each month and have the ability to also earn commissions based on meeting specific goals for their region. All of our salaries are benchmarked against national norms and salary is only one component of your overall compensation, along with paying 100% of your health care premium, a FSA plan, bonuses when deserved, and other great perks like vacation condos, tuition reimbursement, and paid parental leave. You are correct that Yardi has never done a 401k match. Instead (and better!), we have profit sharing for all of our employees, so everyone benefits – not just those who contribute to their 401k program and it’s much higher than what most companies match. Our acquisitions tend to be rather small. Nearly 600 of our employees have been with the company for over 10 years. Best of luck in your future.

Pros

It’s a good taking off point for someone’s career. The benefits are good. It’s a casual office environment. It can take a while to settle in but it improves over time. Depending who you work with, you’re able to learn a lot from your peers. There is room to grow to a certain extent.

Cons

Yardi sent out anonymous surveys asking for feedback whether it’s positive or negative and then they didn’t bother addressing anything that could be improved on during the annual company wide meeting. It was also a little odd that the CEO specifically asked employees to write reviews for Glassdoor which makes Yardi’s rating seem kind of inflated. The salaries are average or a little below average for similar jobs in the same industry. There is a strong 8 to 5 mentality in which the majority of employees are not given resources such as laptops and are not allowed to work remotely. There is very little reimbursement provided for tuition and job related certifications which is unfortunate for those who want to expand their careers. There aren’t many perks for such a large and growing company. Don’t expect there to be many “fun” company/team building activities.

We appreciate your taking the time to write this review. Generally we do not want to defend ourselves in these responses, but in this case we believe there is some information that you may not have heard correctly (the entire presentation is available on Employee Central). In response to your comments about the company survey, at the annual meeting the CEO specifically said that there were areas where we had improved and areas where we had fallen since the last survey two years ago. He also pointed out the areas where we were rated lower, and added that the management team would address those areas where our ratings were not as high as they should be. Glassdoor recently rated Yardi Systems as one of the country’s “BEST PLACES to WORK.” You write that the CEO asked employees to write reviews for Glassdoor. During the company meeting the CEO said “I am so proud and relieved that all of you rated the company the way you did …. As it turns out our internal surveys generally speaking match the Glassdoor survey - the good and the bad - and in places where we see things that you have pointed out ... we take corrective actions.” At no point did he ask employees to write reviews. And finally, we are very proud of the perks and benefits we provide, including paying 100% of health care premiums for our employees, a FSA plan, 401k, profit sharing, vacation condos, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, great discounts to a variety of places both near and far, and more! We also have a Fun Committee with representatives from each office that work hard to provide a variety of events throughout the year. Since you did not list your location, we are unable to reach out to the representative in your office, but we suggest that you speak to the General Manager in your local office to further discuss your thoughts about having more fun at work.
