I’m glad you are enjoying your work with Corizon! I oversee the recruitment efforts for all of our field locations, throughout the US. I realize you wrote this review about six weeks ago. I can’t speak to the staffing levels at that time, but I just looked at the current state at your site. Looks like you all are staffed to meet the levels set forth in our contract with the county. There is a new administrator at your site. If you have not already done so, please escalate your concerns to him. A change in overall staffing plan, would have to be agreed to, by both Corizon and the county, and an amendment to the contract would need to be executed. While I can’t guarantee that any staffing changes would be approved, I certainly encourage you to open up dialogue around the subject, if you feel current coverage is inadequate. Thanks for your feedback and your front line work for Corizon Health! Sincerely, Courtney Penning, Director of Talent Acquisition

Pros

Most nursing staff takes initiative to assist in improving the organization.

Cons

Many employees are too relaxed at their jobs. Leadership ability of those in leadership roles could be dramatically improved. Consistency is a problem. Payrole is never correct.

We are sorry to hear that you feel employees are too relaxed at their jobs. Working in a correctional environment provides specific challenges and it is imperative that all employees be alert and attentive in their environment at all times. When employees experience a payroll problem they are encouraged to work through their site manager to resolve the issue. Our Training Department provides various trainings to our management teams in person, via WebEx and online. Sincerely, Heather Dale, Employee Relations Specialist

Thank you for your feedback. Without specific examples it is difficult to address what is meant by “good old boy system, management, corporate office”. However, in regards to changes in policies and procedures, correctional healthcare is a rapidly evolving industry and Corizon Health continually reviews and modifies our policies and procedures to keep up with changes in the laws and business practice. Corizon Health routinely conducts market surveys to ensure our wages are competitive in the local market. Thank you for your review. Sincerely, Heather Dale, Employee Relations Specialist
