      Young Innovations that is a flat company which gives great opportunity for anyone to start their careers

      Pros

      The company provides a great work/life balance and offers opportunities to move throughout the company.

      Cons

      Career paths are very unclear and ambiguous to a frustrating degree. Movement beyond "manager" to any sort of upper management is near impossible. It struggles to foster good middle management. Also its main office is in Algonquin, a difficult commute for anyone living in Chicago.

      Pros

      Friendly and flexible working environment. You have the ability to find your fit in the company and direct your own work. Many people liken working at Young to a hand-on business school experience - as a small company you have the option to learn about diverse business functions and get your hands dirty.

      Cons

      Uneven professional development opportunities. While there is strong upper management, middle management is weak.
