Pros

Co-workers are welcoming and collaborative, and the benefits package is excellent.

Cons

Office politics contribute to a toxic atmosphere, where upper management may resort to reprimanding staff without providing clear explanations or actionable guidance. When projects encounter difficulties, managers tend to avoid accountability. Deadlines and budgets are rigid, and any deviations from the plan are often met with blame, even when employees are not directly responsible. Rather than fostering a culture of problem-solving, the prevailing attitude is to simply "get it done," even at the expense of quality. Delivering subpar work can reflect poorly on both the employee and the company. Furthermore, the organization's reluctance to adapt to technological advancements results in an overreliance on manual data entry, diminishing productivity. Flexible work arrangements, such as hybrid or remote schedules, are generally unavailable unless specified in the job posting. The workplace culture often resembles an "old boys' club," where unprofessional remarks about clients and colleagues are tolerated among some members of management. For employees seeking a supportive and forward-thinking environment, these challenges can be particularly discouraging. Addressing these issues through improved leadership, clearer communication, and greater accountability could significantly enhance both employee satisfaction and overall company performance.

Pros

Fast paced, technically challenging work building the most important infrastructure in the world - energy and industrial facilities. Great compensation and benefits. Each engineer has a development plan to provide a guide for their growth and career path. On the job training and practical field experience are great for new engineers.

Cons

Consulting is not for everyone due to the accountability of billable work. If you like to slack off it's not a good place for you.
