Pros

I have been with Zeiders on two separate contacts now for a little over 3 years. I have been a regular full-time employee and a team manager as well as on-demand on the PFC contract. There are many pros to working for Zeiders and only a few cons. Pros: 401K vests automatically, this is a great benefit for military spouses who move every 3 years. Other contractors vest after 3 years of service, which is very hard for many mil. spouses to meet. The flexibility and support I receive from my supervisor is great, she is there when I need her even though we live in different countries. This is great to know that even though I am physically the only full time Zeiders employee here, I have support when I need it. The vacation benefits started out great, but have been cut back, more on that in the cons. Overall, I have enjoyed working for Zeiders and when looking at other contractors and how they do business, I am glad I have stuck with Zeiders.

Cons

One thing is the vacation benefits being cut for the new year. I do understand that with the loss of a large contract benefits need to be cut somewhere and this is how contract work goes, but for employees who have been working for Zeiders and are still working for Zeiders, I feel we should have been grandfathered in and new employees start at the new hours. Having been used to having the vacation hours I have received for 3 years, it will be hard to now have less time off to spend with my family this coming year. The work-life balance that Zeiders prides itself on just got a little less life and more work. I was very bummed about this change. The only other thing I can think of that's limiting is the lack of growth is someone does want to break into management. I saw it on my old contract and saw many great employees who would have been amazing managers be passed over for management positions because their resume wasn't where it should be, but while working full-time as an employee, they have no opportunities to get management experience so they can become a manager. So essentially the choice for anyone wanting growth needs to leave Zeiders to get some management experience. This creates high turnover and the really great employees are the ones that end up leaving.

Pros

This was my first experience working as a contractor and it was amazing. I met and talked with Michael Zeiders and was impressed with his demeanor and interest in all employees. I was proud to work for this company, they appreciate their employees, the rate of pay met the number of years of experience, benefits were great and they were willing to invest in our training and licensure.

Cons

The only con is the fact that AFSC underbid and won the contract. The difference in contractors is drastic - no one can compete with Zeiders.
