Mission to improve quality of life for service members and their families. Core values are a reality. Opportunity for many on staff to telecommute. Talented teams of professionals. Good benefits.

Cons

Salary is below industry average. There is not much room to grow. Job security is often dependent upon government contracts.

Its wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed working at Zeiders and appreciate your kind words. We believe that good people provide quality service and we live our core values daily. As a government contractor many of our positions are determined by contract requirements, which can impact the flexibility of our salaries and direct promotions. We do however have programs/ training in place to assist employees in their professional growth so that employees can be ready for when new opportunities within the organization arise. In addition, all positions at Zeiders are posted internally before we consider posting externally.

Zeiders Shortcomings Outweigh Their Pluses!!

Pros

The only reason that they got one star is that the company provides support services for the military servicemembers and their families. The intent is excellent but their execution is extremely poor.

Cons

Extremely poor management!! The supervisors are more interested in covering their posteriors with the OSD than helping to resolve issues / concerns with their people in the field that are actually doing all the work. Never ever expect to have any home office support!! Always expect that you will be blamed if anything goes wrong (especially if the home office provides you with the wrong information / direction).

Not great when the rubber hit the road

Pros

Provides great services to the military and families. A great group of people to work with despite strange management decisions.

Cons

lost their largest government contract. Not one management level person or anyone who was involved in the loss was let go. Instead, lower level workers were cut while NUMEROUS contract folks were kept on to work in business development. Not impressed. Not the way to do business. Low wages, low raises, little to no room for advancement, crisis mode prevails. Tout work/life balance but do not put that into practice. Micro-managers who are over compensated abound.
