If you have an MBA from an Ivy school or if your spouse works for Bain and you have connections with the C-suite, then you will have no problem being promoted, whether or not you have relevant experience. For everyone else, you'll struggle in the trenches and do all the grunt work for the upper level.

Zelis is severely lacking professional maturity in leadership at all levels. It is evident in their inability to maintain any sort of significant tenure of employees below a Manager or Director level. There's retaliation from leaders all over the organization and when employees speak up about it, it's swept under the rug as if it never happened. So many teams are left scrambling and working long hours due to the Yes-man mentality of their leaders (which is really the culture of the organization). Seriously talented professionals and leaders get let go from this company because they push back on things that make sense to push back on, and since executive leadership is threated by them, they just fire them without cause.
