Pros

I initially joined Sendwave, and it was a company that respected both our users and its employees. Our leadership wasn't perfect, but they were consistent and honest, and we were successful while being ethical.

Cons

Since Sendwave's acquisition by WorldRemit (and make no mistake, there is no Zepz we just at WorldRemit), everything has gone downhill. Leadership purposely misleads employees or stonewalls direct questions. Our teams are fully remote and used to meet up periodically, and now this only happens selectively (and seemingly participants are chosen by paygrade or office politics.) Despite being by far the more profitable part of the company, Sendwave employees have been laid off with neither notice for themselves,n or the bare minimum of communication to those of us left behind. Seriously-- they didn't even make an announcement to employees about layoffs that already happened. WorldRemit has much sparser benefits and a distrustful, bureaucratic, permission-first, highly political culture. It's not clear at all what this leadership values (if they have values?) besides what they report to their board. When you add all of this with the overwhelming lack of diversity at the highest levels, it's clear we're headed in the wrong direction. If you have the option of another employer, I'd choose to go work there instead.

Hi, thanks so much for your review! We're really sorry to read your comments and to hear your current feelings towards the integration. We want everybody to feel great about working here. These stages of integration where we are merging two cultures as well as forming a new one as one team can be tough so we appreciate your concerns. Like many companies during this climate, we have had to take tough decisions from time to time. We always do this through the lens of how we can best support our customers and users. We do understand the importance of our team members feeling psychologically safe and like they can trust the decisions we make so these comments have been fed back to our leadership team. We are at the stage where we are building our culture as Zepz and learning as we grow so all feedback is useful. Through listening to feedback on Peakon, holding culture sessions and forming our culture committee we've seen positive progress in this. We would love to have you be a part of the culture community discussions if it's of interest so we can get to a place where you feel like your voice is heard. Thanks so much and please do not hesitate to reach out to your People Business Partner, your line manager or your ExCo member to discuss any of these concerns further.

Pros

When it was just Sendwave - was the most amazing place to work. Remote work, great benefits, fantastic support system and a management team that was 100% pro-employee

Cons

As a part of Sendwave - we were given stock as part of our compensation. Then when it became Zepz, they fired everyone in the Support department( many many people ) that were located in the US. This happened 1 month before the stock was due to vest. Also as a part of Sendwave - we were advised if we hit growth targets we would all be awarded a large bonus - however, the plan changed late in the year, causing us to miss the goal, even though the board approved, and thus no-one got the bonus either. SCAMMED so many people!

First and foremost, we want to acknowledge your positive experience with Sendwave. We're glad to hear that you appreciated the remote work, great benefits, and supportive management team. Our goal has always been to maintain and build upon these positive aspects as we transition to Zepz. We understand your concerns regarding changes. While we cannot discuss individual cases, any changes we make we do so through the lens of how we can best support our customers and users - that has to be our guiding principle to achieve our purpose - but we always aim to treat our people with respect and dignity, guided by our Commitments. Our intention is never to mislead or undervalue our employees. We continuously strive to improve our communication and transparency when it comes to such matters. We take your advice to heart, as we remain committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment your feedback is invaluable in helping us achieve this goal. Pros

Decent work life balance, but I don't trust that that will continue

Cons

Sendwave was a phenomenal place to work. Great leadership, clear vision, committed and fun people to work with, and a place that really tried to treat employees right. Things have gone rapidly downhill since the Zepz merger. Benefits are taken away on short notice, there are layoffs with no warning (and often not even announced, I guess they hoped people just wouldn't notice), bonuses that were earned are not given. Don't sign on with these people expecting any good thing you're told to continue. The parental leave benefit that drew a lot of people in has been axed suddenly and without explanation. Non-compete and forced arbitration clauses were snuck into the American contract without notice. If you see the unlimited PTO don't believe it- I'd be shocked if they're offering it in a few months. The Zepz senior leadership seems intent on driving the company off a cliff, or selling it off for parts. Either way, it's not a pleasant environment to be a part of. There's a review from March 12, 2023 from senior leadership that complains about Sendwave employees. It's a great example of they act when people tell them they don't appreciate their compensation being cut while the company celebrates financial success.
