Pros

Everything. My boss is awesome, my boss's boss is awesome, ... the CEO is awesome. The views are amazing, the free food/snacks/drinks are great, and the benefits are great. I'm surrounded by smart people, and am constantly learning. Little red-tape and no business politics allow for us to immediately benefit the company and have a huge impact. I love my job. -p.s.: there are treadmill desks, a candy wall, ping pong tables, and a video game room!

Cons

From what I hear, it's pretty hard to make it in the Sales department. I'm more of a software developer, so we sort-of escape that kind of pressure. Also, we could use more bathrooms. But if that's the only complaint I can think of- I think Zillow is doing fine.

Pros

Great company, leadership and vision. Benefits are some of the best out there.

Cons

Unfortunately the company decided to change the whole entire sales process and it is not positive. No longer can a good salesperson build a great clientele base and call their own shots. New role can be extremely monotonous and it doesn't reward for bringing on new clientele. Hopefully things change.

Thanks for the feedback and I am sorry to hear your initial impression of your new role at Zillow hasn't been positive. To be clear, the sales process has not changed; Our value proposition to agents remains incredibly attractive. We created two roles: Sales Executive and Business Consultant and we did our best to align people with the role at which they will most likely excel and activities they've proven to do well in their time at Zillow. As you know, business Consultants have been given a large book of clients and are responsible for growing that book of business by helping real estate agents succeed. We've gotten a good amount of feedback from our business consultants that they love their new role because it allows them to focus on helping their clients as opposed to having to juggle new client acquisition along with the demands of managing a book. It certainly did require that people adapt in some ways but what we've found is that great sales people figure out how to make a new role satisfying and lucrative. We made this change a little more than a month ago so I'd encourage you to give the new role a real chance before passing final judgement. Fortunately, we have the most productive agent marketing platform in the real estate business and approximately half of our sales come from current clients buying more - we piloted this model in one region for more than 6 months before rolling it out companywide - the pilot team was the most productive in the company over this period so we feel confident we've got the right approach. Please feel free to stop by my desk or send me a meeting invite if you'd like some more guidance on how to succeed in your new role. Doug Slotkin VP, Local Ad Sales
