Pros

Union negotiated healthcare. Union negotiated pension plan (if you were lucky enough to be part of before it was gotten rid of). Hands off approach from supervisors if you get your work done. Fiber product is great.

Cons

Clueless management as to human decency. If you are a union employee the company looks at you as over paid and a scourge. They basically said so in negotiations. But these are the guys and gals who actually know what the heck they are doing to keep the systems up and running. No investment in the decaying infrastructure in regards to buildings and grounds. Outwardly the company LOOKs like it is doing the right thing but back end is sorely lacking.

Pros

You have flexibility on your work schedule. A lot of the work gets done in the field. That’s probably the only plus you get working here. If you are new to sales. This is a good place to start and the company will hire. They are desperate in hiring sales reps. They don’t have a choice. If you’re a season sales rep don’t come here. You will be highly disappointed. You won’t make the money they will promise you can make. You will be disappointed in the high level of unprofessionalism that exist among this company.

Cons

Leadership is lacking in this company. You are given areas to work that have been beaten over and over again. And neighborhoods that people have no interest in switching even if you give them the service for free. When I left there was a huge over hire of sales reps. Leadership thought more hires equals more sales. That could be farther from the truth. Previous sales reps offer one and two months as a free trial. So when you go into neighborhoods, people will automatically tell you they are not interested in a free trial. Sales reps wrote a lot bad business. As a company, it was common to see 50% of installs as a whole not get install, because the reps soft sold this customers, or sold it a free trial. Crazy thing this was happening since the inception of this company and still happening when I left. Company calls it “slippage” but it’s really fraud, bad business being written. The sales reps do this because there’s no chargebacks so they can write bad business. No consequences. Leadership has no choice to call it this because they can’t afford top talent. The most they pay reps is $40k although they advertised you can make $50k. Most sales reps when I left, about 75% weren’t hitting quota. They were hovering around 65% to quota. In other words the average sales rep earned $2k in commissions per month. Don’t buy into leaderships bs you can make six figures. Tell them to show you how many people are doing this and what the percentage of reps. Most likely they won’t show this to you because they will be embarrassed and you most likely you will walk away. Churned was at an all time high. When I left it was 75%. Others who left after me told me it reached 80% plus. That’s a leadership problem because they hired them.

Positive Mission, Leadership Gaps

Pros

Flexible hybrid and remote work environment

Cons

1. Limited learning and professional growth opportunities 2. Ongoing power struggles between departments and senior leadership 3. Projects are frequently started but not consistently completed 4. Highly individualistic work culture with minimal collaboration or shared accountability 5. Internal politics significantly influence day-to-day operations 6. Inconsistent transparency in communication and decision-making 7. Hiring practices appear to rely heavily on personal connections rather than merit 8. Decisions often seem driven by self-preservation instead of collective or organizational outcomes 9. Escalation to HR is commonly associated with retaliation rather than meaningful resolution ( personally seen 2 cases)
