- Occasionally functional software, if you’re lucky. - You might learn Mandarin out of necessity. - Remote work means you can mute the chaos.

Cons

- Working for a Chinese-owned company feels like a loyalty test. - Culture reeks of authoritarian control; dissenters vanish from meetings mysteriously. - Career growth? Only if enjoy being a cog in their machine. - Compensation barely covers the therapy needed to cope with this dystopian nightmare.

Good pay, hours, and still some benefits left

Cons

Culture went way down in the last two years. Incompetent managers and toxic management practices are on the rise. People being laid off and pushed out silently in all departments. Way too many leaders pushing ego-based choices (which flip-flop continually) making any semblance of a process very hard for all stakeholders. Uncontrolled design debt makes future good design choices impossible.

The price of working at Zoom were the culture and the support that you have in the whole organization. One of genuinely the most collaborative environments have ever been in.

Cons

With being there during the pandemic, it was a high growth season. All of that contributed to a lot of innovation and at times wires getting crossed.
