Pros

- Catered lunches on Wednesdays - Company sponsored fitness program - Amazing passionate people in the rank and file

Cons

- Upper management doesn't appear to know how to steer the ship. Negligible and sometimes no communication plan is in place before something bug happens. - No time to iterate. Always chasing the next shiny thing and usually at the whim on the CEO. - Crunch could be avoided in every sector if there was direction. - Marketing seems to run the show. - Doesn't live by the company values they promote. - Very little opportunity to move up. Lots of people hired in from the outside. - No 401k matching - If you're salaried, you're on call 24/7

Messy from the top down

Pros

Good healthcare, free lunch once a week, opportunity to meet interesting pros from the bike and tri world.

Cons

Zwift is a mess, and has been for a long time. From the top down, the organization suffers from a lack of leadership. Misplaced focus is a running theme. Executives are constantly forcing their own interests down the pipeline, with zero thought behind them, other than it's cool. Despite being presented with data driven research that shows that the demand is not there, when a project inevitably fails, the team is punished instead of the exec that made the choice. Employees are regularly left guessing on what the goal of a project is, as it seems the exec team doesn’t know themselves. There are multiple people in the company that people have zero idea what they do, let alone how they are still employed. There is almost zero promotion from within to a managerial level, let alone a director or C suite level. People are regularly let go with zero company communication, leaving the rest of the company wondering what happened, and wondering if their projects are still happening. Additionally, they laid off 30+ people in the middle of a world wide health pandemic. The company as a whole chooses to focus on things that make no sense. Instead of sound proofing the lab, or increasing benefits (which had been promised for years), money is spent on positions that don’t matter, trips that do nothing, or research to develop things no one asked for. HR turnover is CONSTANT, leading to nothing ever happening.

Terrible management and overall culture

Pros

Company offers catered lunch sometimes and has group rides but nothing other startups don’t offer. It’s well financed by investors.

Cons

The management lacks direction and does not understand how to develop good company culture. They have consistently hired underqualified VPs which they end up having to pay a severance to when they fire them, yet they keep repeating the same mistakes. Zero transparency - claim to care about employeee feedback but consistently ignores it when received. Just laid off 1/3 of company for no reason, certainly not for lack of funding - claims they want diversity and thinks they can achieve it by laying off mostly males. Shows how little they care about their employees. Morale is at all time low, zero motivation, EEs want to leave, just difficult time to find a new gig. Work here if you want to be managed by a bunch of people at the top who have no clue what they’re doing!
