Pros

Free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Lots of open space

Cons

Unless you are a hired on full time employee, you miss half the perks I felt management didn't care, or felt threatened by my abilities

Pros

Great building, a mile from BART, private parking (180 a month, I think), great culinary team (I've heard the food isn't really free, but haven't investigated for myself; small amount deducted per paycheck) dog-friendly, great employees, gym, events, health insurance.

Cons

Wildly different per project. My team is a boys club at the top. One regime was ousted to allow for a new dictator who filled the high paying ranks with his buddies from outside the company and bootlickers. Their mission is efficiency for the sake of efficiency. You will be granularly nitpicked every hour of every day. Management expects you to go above and beyond (i.e. not in your job description) at all times with a slim chance of being rewarded for it. My manager doesn't care about my career, will not invest in programs to strengthen my capabilities, and actively blocks attempts to laterally move to other projects with clearer career paths by making veiled threats to their leadership regarding "poaching." Management reviews were taken away around the time the regime changed. Reason given was "of course people don't like their managers, it isn't valuable to constantly get rid of managers because of few salty employees." It is evident that management has no idea how to run a review cycle or what to do with that data, aside from telling people that they aren't doing their jobs when they aren't consistently over-achieving. You will do well here if you had over-bearing parents who criticized you for getting As instead of A+s.

Pros

The food. The parties. The monthly show & tell

Cons

Was let go two weeks before one year's up, conveniently shutting me out of a chunky promised equity compensation. The people in my engineering and design team have cliques and after approaching to be friendly for a few times I was like why bother it feels very much like high school. The exception was the art team. After months of getting back on my feet I joined another Fortune 500 doing the same work but very relaxing. And they really value what I do unlike Zynga where my advanced experiences and specialties could not be utilized in the constant patchworks and code-debt. I've met another engineer with similar background I too see him doing somewhat unexciting work too. . It was a lesson that -From a person with over 10+ years experience in games
