      All things said it could be worse

      Pros

      My department was great to work in although we generally felt as we were looked at as the morons of the company, good benefits for a small company, good employee appreciation perks

      Cons

      lack of communication (too many meetings that accomplish nothing), managers don't manage, client rules all (which is bad when you're talking about rushing projects that shouldn't be rushed), catty environment, if you want to advance you need to be your own advocate--no plan in place.

      Client schedules and deadlines are pressures we face every day. Ultimately, we serve the client needs, and we need to balance the deadlines with delivering quality work. Our company is continually growing and we are constantly bringing innovative projects and products to our customers, who are at the core of our business. This requires a lot of hustle but also opens up a lot of opportunity for growth. We expect every employee to take an active role in their career development and to communicate their preferences for professional growth and training to their managers.

      Stable Company that Invests in its Employees

      Pros

      Management is approachable and when you do good work, you’ll usually get rewarded with more $$ and responsibility. You can also move within the company: if you find something that interests you outside of your department, you can usually work on it or transfer roles. Good amount of time off, family oriented.

      Cons

      Need to replace “Reply All” to emails with project management software, sometimes information isn't shared between departments. Health benefits are “just ok.”

      I appreciate the comment and am proud that our management team is very approachable. I wish more employees would take advantage of a dialog with senior managers when they feel it’s necessary. We have looked at various project management software but not yet found one that meets our needs. We need to balance under- and over-communicating, and welcome employee suggestions for better tools in that area.
