Pros

The people are the biggest positive, especially the engineers and technical specialists. There are a lot of smart, genuinely helpful people who are always willing to jump in and help on customer opportunities. The company is also very flexible when it comes to working remotely, which makes it easier to balance work and family life.

Cons

For the sales organization in SoCal, your experience will depend heavily on your direct manager...and there are only two. Tons of inconsistency around expectations. Leadership often talked about how it takes 12 to 18 months to build a territory and develop meaningful customer relationships, but reps could still be placed on very aggressive short-term performance plans that felt more focused on hitting specific arbitrary numbers than on actual progress and development -- all while not really providing a clear quota or attainment goals. ePlus is moving in the right direction by investing in cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and managed services, but they are trying to be a master of all trades. Their core strength is Data Center/Networking. For the new business units, the challenge is that some of those teams and internal processes still feel like they are being built in real time. Creates confusion around quoting, approvals, and compensation, and at times it feels like sales reps are figuring things out alongside the internal teams. Compensation and benefits were below industry standard. There were no annual raises for sales reps, and the medical plans were (very) expensive with relatively limited coverage.

Pros

Solid people to work with and kind of struggle together through sometimes removed leaderships issues. People always willing to help

Cons

Highly removed leadership who doesn’t understand the systemic applications of their ask or the process to get it done. Doesn’t hire enough people but keeps wanting to go faster without headcount. Very little documentation for training and very hard to pin down who actually owns what? Promises things on front end and never actually delivered
