Toxic Leadership

Pros

The only pro at this company is the day you give notice and never have to deal with this awful culture again.

Cons

Members of marketing leadership is extremely toxic. IMM leader is inexperienced, toxic, a poor manager and no one wants to work for her. They hired a mediocre, at best, SALES person with zero marketing experience as CMO. I’ve never seen a bigger disaster.

We are sorry you were not happy in your role. One thing that we pride ourselves on is that we identify great leaders - individuals who know how to get the best out of their teams, who can motivate and engage, who can differentiate and develop talent and who can celebrate wins and coach opportunities. Organizations today have to balance that need for exceptional leadership capabilities with technical capabilities, with a gap in the latter being ok when surrounded with strong technicians throughout the team. We are very proud of our current talented Marketing team and the great work they do for this organization in differentiating us, our products and commitment to our customers in the market. We hope you have found a place where you are happy and wish you all the best in your new career endeavors!

Food for thought

Pros

I was hired remotely and was expected to be on site every two months, or so. It was a great, chill and kind working environment. I felt very supported by my teammates. The Wilmington lifestyle is something else - you can suft in the morning and roll into the office around 9:30/10am.

Cons

Then the layoffs came and ruined it all. nCino brought everyone to the office 5 days a week and laid off most if not all remote employees. The sweet culture talk took a walk.. and the pink bubble burst. Come to think of it, there were some signs of the actual management mindset towards the business and it people, with CEO often saying "I", "ME", "MY company" in his all hands talks. Then there were the company parties with the executives flaunting their classic cars in front of the headquarters. All that aside, going back to business and the products: it's time to start collecting data and making data-informed decisions. To my surprise, the employees at the company build digital solutions without any solid market research or data available to them. nCino does not have any usage data on their products either. For a company that sells an analytics product (nIQ), that's pretty bad. Last but not least, maybe it's a Wilmington thing, but there is very little diversity at this company. To finish on a positive note, this feedback is provided to serve as constructive criticism. nCino has a great potential and can turn things around, if only they decide to listen to their employees.

Thank you for your post and we are sorry you weren't able to get to know the company better since you were not with us for a full year. At nCino, that short tenure is not the norm so we hope you have been able to find another opportunity where you are happy. Our alumni are important and we want them to find great opportunities when they leave us. One correction - at nCino we pride ourselves on having a vibrant talent attraction strategy of which, remote employees are a vital part. We are proud to say that we have over 400 remote employees in the United States alone who do not report into one of our brick and mortar locations. We love our remote employees and appreciate the value and expertise they bring to nCino! Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts and we wish you the very best in all your future endeavors!

Pros

You coworkers will all be very smart and nice people. There is a good work-life balance. PTO is generous and a good health insurance plan.

Cons

Upper management is out of touch with the typical employee. There is a fixation on returning to the office to keep the culture from eroding, which paradoxically is contributing to an erosion in culture. Salary is average with a small 401k match and no bonus opportunities.
