Rewarding work with great people plus endless perks
Pros
1. The benefits package are the best I've seen in my entire career. I pay for nothing for my entire family to have health/dental insurance. Student loan stipend. 401k match. Friends and family are shocked when I tell them about the benefits package I have. 2. The people here really are the gold standard. I can confidently say that I have the most enjoyable and inclusive co-workers as well as higher-ups (all the way to the executive level). 3. Coming into work isn't a chore. Management makes sure to keep employees happy in the office. We have top of the line upfitted office space, equipment, coffee shop, jam room (soundproof room you can play music in), recording studio, putting green, terrace, hand selected snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine on tap during Friday happy hour.. the list goes on and on. Those complaining that management focuses too much on the "flashy things" are really letting their privilege show. There are people who would do anything to work in an office with natural light let alone free snacks, coffee, drinks and meeting space. 4. Work life balance is fully embraced and encouraged. Very generous PTO plus holidays and flex holidays. Also maternity and paternity leave. Management is very supportive of family matters, volunteering and other personal situations. 5. Compensation seems very fair in my opinion. Yes, when you compare it to the over-inflated labor market that is seeing record high wage-inflation then yes, we look low. Luckily we have an executive team who makes proactive rational decisions while taking the macro-environment into consideration, otherwise we would wind up like all these other tech companies breaking the news announcing record breaking layoffs which seem to be getting worse as the months go on. I'd take a lower paid position with job security and fully paid benefits over a higher paid position with risk of layoff any day of the week. 6. The culture is what sets nCino apart from other companies and working behind a screen doesn't exemplify nor embrace that culture. The same people writing reviews complaining about having to come back into the office are the same people who complain that nCino doesn't have the same culture as it did when it first started- or it's "too corporate." What they don't realize is that we went remote right before we went public so while they feel the culture shift correlates with becoming a public "corporate" company, it actually correlates more with shifting to being a remote-first company for the last two years. Management is asking us to come back to the office to ramp up the culture, collaboration and sense of community- people just choose to see the negative, egocentric side and stomp their feet about it.
Cons
Some growing pains with M&A activity, but that's to be expected. No decaf coffee in the kitchen (first world problems, right?) The AC vent is directly over my cubicle so I have to bring a blanket into work ...I think that about wraps up all the cons.
