Next-level technology in a really cool space, dedicated team
Pros
- The product is very very cool, and has a lot of potential. If you're interested in truly innovative technologies, additive, 3D printing, it is a cool place to be. The opportunity for disruption in engineering software could be tremendous with the platform - it's an exciting time at nTop. - The leadership team has changed, developed, and matured a lot in the last few years. There are still functions that have gaps, but in general the changes have been positive for the company and the business. - People are generally very knowledgeable in their area of expertise, and seem motivated to help one another learn. CS nTalks and slack channels for different levels of learner create opportunities for internal collaboration and support. People used to get upset over small things and it would create huge time sinks to smooth it over and manage the drama. This is a very positive shift in the way we communicate and the online/ remote culture at the organization. - The people at nTopology really seem to care about each other doing well and being well. Even through a pandemic and the ups and downs of the last couple of years, plus internal changes and other challenges, the team continues to show up for one another in all kinds of ways, and recognize each other for pitching in. The #shoutouts channel is a great example of this! And the results of that work are exciting developments.
Cons
- Internal communication has suffered as the company has scaled. Remote/ hybrid communication makes this difficult and more important to land well, nTop struggles with this sometimes. - Out of anyone's control, in-person gatherings have been minimal due to COVID, which has been tough since the mood has a definite lift when the team is able to gather. - Rocketship rides aren't always smooth - nTop isn't immune to growing pains.
