We consider it a privilege to be tasked with advancing energy equity for our customers, by providing them with access to the resources and programs they need to embark on their #decarbonization journeys. For the third consecutive time, Eversource Energy has topped the The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE)’s Utility Energy Efficiency Scorecard, released every three years to rank the 53 largest #energyefficiency providers. This is a great achievement for Eversource Massachusetts and Eversource Connecticut to rank first and eighth place, respectively, with continued support from our regulators as we work towards a clean energy future. Exciting #geothermal news! This week, we started drilling on ~90 bore holes as part of our networked geothermal pilot project that will provide an #energyefficient and sustainable heating and cooling system for 140 of our customers across nearly 40 buildings in the City of Framingham. This local #cleanenergy solution is part of our ongoing commitment to advancing an all-encompassing approach to facilitating the decarbonization of our natural gas system. “Over the next two years, we’re going to study if this technology is cost-effective for our customers, and whether we can expand this kind of networked geothermal system to other customers and communities beyond this neighborhood in Framingham,” said our President of Gas William Akley.
A big thank you to University of New Hampshire President Jim Dean for stopping by Energy Park yesterday to meet with our team. The day kicked off with a tour of our System Operations Center, where he got a behind-the-scenes look at how our remote system operators manage our electric system. Next, our #UNH alumni and summer interns joined President Dean and our NH President of Operations Doug Foley to discuss supporting workforce development for the benefit of all NH businesses and sustainably meeting our state's future energy needs. It was a great visit!
