Our President Jose Hidalgo was recently interviewed by Adam Stone at WashingtonExec about the data challenges faced by the Department of Defense. Jose discussed the latest developments in FTI's powerful technology and how we can deploy our services rapidly—in weeks or months—to give our country’s warfighters the information advantage they need. They also covered our plans to expand FTI's Centers of Excellence, which will foster collaboration between branches of the DoD, mission partners and academics to accelerate innovation in space domain awareness and resilient defensive cyber security. The Huntsville Business Journal sat down with FTI President Jose Hidalgo to talk about our expansion plans in Huntsville. Read more about why:
FTI opened its Huntsville office in 2010 with just a handful of employees. Today, we're proud to announce a $10 million investment to expand our current facilities and build the FTI Huntsville Analysis and Cyber Security Center (HACS Center), which will be home to our current 60 employees, and add up to 140 new high-paying jobs over the next three years. With our footprint expanding to 40,000 square feet, our state-of-the-art facilities will serve as a Cyber Center of Excellence; providing a secure environment where FTI’s government customers, mission partners and academics can collaborate to accelerate innovation in cyber through cutting-edge analytics, access to the FTI’s vast library of operational technologies and deep technical capabilities in the cyber domain. Cyber threats are among the most serious and rapidly evolving threats faced by our customers in the U.S. Department of Defense, and FTI is very proud to do our part in helping our country maintain its edge in the cyber domain. Join us in congratulating the 2023-2024 Lavon Jordan Scholars! This year, FTI awards five new recipients about to graduate high school and renews three exceptional scholars from last year's program. The Lavon Jordan Scholarship is more than a recognition of these bright individuals' academic excellence; it's a commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of technology leaders. As part of their scholarship experience, each Lavon Jordan Scholar has been paired with an FTI mentor whose career aligns with the scholar's aspirations. This mentorship program fosters professional growth, providing invaluable insights, guidance and real-world knowledge. We are excited to witness all the incredible contributions these scholars will make!
Charity and community are important pillars of FTI’s culture. Being active in our communities goes beyond just charitable donations. So much so that many of our leaders volunteer their time and lend their professional expertise by serving on the boards of the directors of local organizations. For example, FTI President Jose Hidalgo recently joined the Board of the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida. Read more about what drives him to serve and how it’s part of our mission at FTI. https://lnkd.in/eydxc3PX FTI CEO Ron Shroder has served as a Big Brother to 9-year-old Judah for nearly two years and serves on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County Ohio. Kristin Goodwin, Brig Gen (ret), FTI’s Space Force Operations Executive, serves on the Board at the Home Front Military Network (HFMN), which provides miliary members and their families with critical community resources and emergency financial assistance. FTI employees donated more than 4,000 volunteer hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to nearly 70 organizations last year. We’re excited to continue this spirit of service in the new year!
Brian C. Benz, MBA, PMP, FTI’s vice president of U.S. Navy/USMC, invited Honor Flight veteran Jack Mecham to our holiday party in Dayton. A Vietnam War veteran, Jack piloted the Black Mariah CIA helicopter and retired SR-71 Blackbird — which holds the world record for fastest air-breathing manned aircraft to this day. In total, Jack flew 20 different fixed wing aircraft during his 20-year career. The Honor Flight Network ensures U.S. veterans receive recognition for their dedication and sacrifice long after their service ends. FTI is privileged to partner with Honor Flight on this essential work. Brian and his twin daughters, Peyton and Lauren, were Jack's guardians in April for his Honor Flight to Washington D.C. We're thrilled to see our employees establish lifelong friendships with these inspiring veterans.
This year, we teamed up with Toys for Tots to spread holiday joy and ensure children in need receive new toys for the holiday. During this campaign, we donated 216 toys and raised $10,900! (A snapshot from our Dayton event below - thanks to Cathy Hebert, Jarrod Murry, Rachel Roberts, Wesley Cole, Joseph Kent, and Mark Bryner for participating!) We also just wrapped up our Golden Stache campaign, where FTI contributed $50 to K9s for Warriors for every (real or fake) mustache picture submitted by one of our employees. We totaled $5,250!
In FTI's ongoing support of the Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR) Red Team and the OPTEVFOR 01D Cybersecurity Mission, the team competed in the 2023 Department of Defense's Cyber Red Zone (CRZ) event. The event is structured to train and test participants' knowledge, focusing on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill acquisition. CRZ provided an environment for teams to explore relevant cyber challenges based on the DoD environment as identified by key stakeholders. The team successfully completed 100% of the challenges and placed first out of 33 other teams! FTI continues to maintain the highest possible cybersecurity talent to meet our customer needs, as demonstrated by this accomplishment.
We're delighted to share the success of FTI’s Golden Stache Campaign this year! For the month of November, our employees participated in this fun and purposeful event, growing out their 'staches in support of veterans in light of Veteran’s Day. Together, we raised an impressive total of $5,250 which FTI donated to K9s for Warriors, a charitable organization that provides service dogs to veterans with military-connected traumas. A heartfelt thank you to all our employees for their enthusiastic participation and creative contributions. Your dedication to making a positive impact is truly commendable and we couldn't have done it without you!
More than 40 FTI team members based in the Colorado Springs and Front Range area gathered for a tour of our newest FTI office in Colorado Springs. In conjunction with the tour, Luke T. provided technology training. Additionally, in support of our 4Cs, the team members put their arts and crafts skills to the test by wrapping gifts for two deserving families from a local elementary school through Pikes Peak United Way. Kristin Goodwin, Brig Gen (ret), who recently joined FTI, also addressed the team. Kristin is part of the leadership team behind our Space Force operations group, where she’s focused on helping new and future customers stay ahead of the rapidly changing environment of space warfare. Across her three-decade Air Force career, Kristin led policy development, training, and programming for 38,000 space and cyberspace professionals worldwide. Her commands included the B-2 operations support squadron, 2nd Bomber Wing, and 509th Operations Group. She also helped stand up the 11th Combatant Command, USSPACECOM as Chief of Staff and led the organizational structure design for Space Operations Command. Kristin brings her experience and insights to FTI at the perfect time, as we continue to accelerate our growth in the space defense sector. Welcome Kristin!
