To date, kids in need have missed over one billion school meals due to closures. We’re doing what we can to help by donating $20,000 to @NoKidHungry, our longtime partner who has quickly found new ways to feed kids during this crisis and beyond.
We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from the IHG family of hotels around the world, who’ve lit up their windows with messages of support. We hope you’ll join the movement. Create your own window heart and tag #LightsofLove and #IHG. We can’t wait to welcome you again, but in the meantime, let’s encourage and stand behind one another. ❤️
As part of the hospitality world and the IHG family, we’ve had to think quickly and creatively about the role we play in all of this. We knew we had to find new ways to support our communities – it’s what we do. Some of our doors are closed, but our hearts are open. We may be going about things a little differently right now, but our promise to deliver heartfelt care is stronger than ever. #LightsOfLove #IHG #Kimpton
To our Kimpton community – we’re in this together. Human connection has been at the heart of everything we do since our founding 40 years ago. While our core values haven’t changed, the world around us has, and some of our hotels and restaurants won’t be able to welcome guests for a little while. We’re thinking of you all and sending our love during this time. Travel will thrive again soon and when it does, we look forward to celebrating all of life’s happy occasions with you. So as you dream up your post-COVID 19 adventures, know that we’ll be here to host you. Don’t hesitate to check our availability as you map out a future filled with travel and delight. In the meantime, stay safe – we’ll be over here counting the days until we welcome you back. ❤️
Fun fact: our CEO started at Kimpton as one of our hotel general managers 23 years ago and has been a champion of our award-winning workplace culture ever since. Fast Company interviewed Mike DeFrino for their “Secrets of the Most Productive People” podcast. He shares his tips on growing your teams from within, the importance of trust and where yogurt falls into the mix in the spectrum of workplace perks.
It’s incredibly humbling to be able to say year after year “We’ve made Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list!” And wouldn’t you know, it’s that time of year again. We’re proud to share that for the 11th year, we’re sitting pretty on the coveted list (we clocked in at #10), thanks to feedback from our employees about what it’s like to work at Kimpton. So if you work for Kimpton and you’re reading this, we want to say thank you. Kimpton is Kimpton because of you. #kimptonlove #100bestcos
There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s...oh hi. Don’t mind us, we’re just beyond excited because we’re heading back to our hometown of San Francisco in 2020, where we’ll be putting our roots down in the lively heart of Fisherman’s Wharf. And if you think this iconic waterfront neighborhood is all bread bowl chowder and vociferously vocal sea lions, think again. As locals we have the inside scoop on the hidden gems among the less-traveled paths of this popular destination (link in bio). So make a splash in the Bay, make your way through a psychedelic labyrinth, or make short work of a glass of local Cab on a pier-side patio, but make it soon. Oh, and we see you've noticed that we’re enjoying all that dipping, tripping and sipping while rocking a pair of shimmering ruby slippers. Well don’t worry; in the anything-goes city of San Francisco, we fit right in.
The expression “a picture is worth a thousand words” has never been more relevant. We’re proud to announce our partnership with Fotografiska New York, the celebrated photography institution founded in Stockholm, with a mission to “inspire a more conscious world.” We share a lot of common values with Fotografiska. Together, we’re exploring the ways rich, diverse stories bring us together: stories that remind us how we’re all connected, no matter our backgrounds. Our partnership includes a multi-city, pop-up installation where three female photographers look at what it means to Stay Human in modern times. The installation premiered at Fotografiska’s gleaming new six-story New York City outpost. This January – August, it’ll tour 6 U.S. cities and will be on display at Kimpton Hotels. Art lovers, photography aficionados and the culturally curious – we invite you to join us in these shared spaces and view this special collection of photographs.
Forge meaningful ties with other guests, experience the true fabric of a destination, and challenge your preconceived notions about travel with the Kimpton Stay Human Project. Our new guest room series transforms one premium room in 20 participating properties into a unique activation that honors the hyper-local character of the surrounding neighborhood. Although they differ in theme and approach, all Stay Human Project rooms are stocked with a guestbook—perfect for leaving messages for the next guests and reading notes from those who came before—a culinary and drink story that’s customized to your tastes, and striking #stayhumanproject signage that begs to be ‘grammed. It’s an experience all your own—one that promises to deepen your human relationships in an increasingly high-tech world. We can’t think of a better way to begin a decade (woah) by slowing down and experiencing true human connection by #StayingHuman
The day her son Nico was born, Valerie knew something was wrong. Four months later she was told the official diagnosis: craniosynostosis. Nico had no soft spot in his skull to allow his brain to grow and would need major skull revision surgery at just six months old. Two weeks before his surgery was scheduled, Valerie faced another hurdle. Due to Nico’s rare blood type, she’d need to find a compatible donor within a few days or the surgery would have to be postponed. This news was given to her as she was walking in for a shift at @paccisavannah Italian Kitchen at the Kimpton @bricehotel. Frantic and upset, her coworkers agreed to find out their blood-types and donate if they could. It turned out Shannon was a match. Today Nico is healthy and happy after a rapid recovery due to the bravery of both mom Valerie and her selfless friend Shannon. It’s moments like these that remind us it’s not just design, amenities or restaurants — but the people that make Kimpton, Kimpton. #kimptonstories
