Every hotel needs a Sam. There, we said it. Sam Mobae is a gem with a heart of gold. Born in Eritrea in East Africa, he’s warm, passionate and genuine. He opened the Kimpton Gray Hotel as a bellman, and since then he’s been the heart and soul of his team. He represents the hotel and Kimpton with pride, and guests simply love him. From the moment we met Destini, now a server at our Pacific Hideaway in Huntington Beach, we knew we had found someone special. Adopted at 6 months old, she was raised to be herself and to help others whenever possible. “Herself” is someone who loves mac and cheese with avocado, Queer Eye, and creating jewelry. Helping others shows in the form of beach cleanups, detailed Game of Thrones recaps with colleagues, and her clear desire to bring happiness into other people’s lives. In fact, her smile is contagious among guests and work friends alike. Have you had the pleasure of meeting Destini yet?
