Kinecta Federal Credit Union was proud to partner with the Redondo Beach PTA for the Footsteps to Freedom Black History Month Exhibit, sponsored by our Community Department and DEI Council! This powerful event featured historian and collector Hardy Brown II, who shared his personal collection of rare artifacts that highlight the struggles, triumphs and resilience of freedom fighters throughout history. The exhibit welcomed over 250 attendees, exploring everything from enslavement to the civil rights movement. A special shout-out to the Redondo Union High School AP African American Studies students, whose participation reminded us of the importance of expanding Black history education and empowering the next generation to understand and shape America’s story. This event wasn't just about the past—it was a call to action for progress, a celebration of strength and a reminder that the fight for equality continues today. We are proud to support initiatives that educate, inspire and bring us all closer to a brighter future. hashtag#bankingdonedifferent hashtag#BlackHistoryMonth hashtag#BlackHistory

In 2024, Kinecta relaunched its internship program with Mychal's Learning Place—the Kinectabilities Internship Program. This program has been such a success, helping create deeper understanding and connection while empowering the disabled community with real opportunities. Working alongside our talented Mychal's Learning Place interns has been an inspiring experience. It’s shown us the true impact of inclusivity—not just in theory, but in practice. The experience has been eye-opening for everyone involved, demonstrating the incredible value of diversity and empowering our employees to grow together.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made the 2024 Mychal's Learning Place Santa Stroll a record-breaking success! This year, nearly 1,300 Santas (humans and canines alike) joined us in supporting MLP and together we raised over $175,000 for their incredible programs! 🙌 Every dollar raised will directly fund vocational training for MLP students, empowering them to discover their passion, build their resumes and pursue gainful employment. Kinecta is proud to be a part of this meaningful partnership and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you who contributed to this amazing event.

🎉 Kinecta Federal Credit Union's DEI Council hosted the annual Winter Village Holiday Party, bringing employees and their families together for an unforgettable celebration! ✨ This year’s event was filled with holiday cheer, featuring crafting stations for dreidel-making, Kwanzaa crafts, ornament decorating, gingerbread house building, a snow sleigh hill that brought out the fun in both kids and adults, karaoke sessions, a festive ugly sweater contest and a magical surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus with a special toy giveaway! Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) showcased their unique themes by decorating holiday trees that reflected their cultures, highlighting the diversity at Kinecta. As part of our commitment to giving back, we held a toy drive and collected over 50 toys for local organizations, including Watts Community Core and Hope is Helping Non-Profit. A huge THANK YOU to our DEI Council, volunteers and local businesses for making this event so special! 💚

Kinecta Federal Credit Union is spreading holiday cheer once again in Manhattan Beach, pulling the iconic Santa Float through the neighborhood! 🎅🎄 It’s an honor to continue this local tradition and celebrate the season with our community. Did you spot us on the route? “The Manhattan Beach Santa Float, a local tradition dating back to 1955, rolls up and down the streets of Manhattan Beach for three weeks every December, bringing treats, good cheer, and photo ops with Santa. Santa and his elves wait patiently on each block as children and adults (and their dogs!) line up to get their (free) picture taken, share their holiday wishes, and get a candy cane.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gZgp9u27

Kinecta Federal Credit Union was joined by Rep. Maxine Waters and community leader Dr. Alice ‘Sweet Alice’ Harris on Sunday, November 24, 2024, to distribute holiday meals to families in South Los Angeles. The 51st annual holiday food drive aided nearly 1,500 families at distribution events in Southern California and Rochester, New York. During the fundraiser, more than $60,000 was raised through donations from vendors, employees, and members. Kinecta then partnered with over 40 community-based organizations throughout Los Angeles County, Santa Barbara County, Orange County and Rochester, New York, to select families. Each family received a bag of traditional Thanksgiving food items, such as rice, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, and stuffing mix, along with a $50 grocery store gift card to help complete their holiday meal. "Kinecta is grateful to our vendors, staff, members, families and friends that donated money and time to help make the food drive a success,” said Kinecta Community Foundation Executive Director Latrice McGlothin. “More than 2 million people in Los Angeles County face food insecurity and this event helps fill the need for food during the holiday season. We are honored to continue this tradition of helping families in our community for more than 50 years.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/g-kSYdap
