Our 14th annual Smile Generation Serve Day was one for the books! This past weekend, over 5,400 patients received free, life-changing dental care in PDS Health practices across the country. We are so thankful for servant-hearted clinicians who have a passion for helping others and creating happier, healthier communities nationwide.
The growing research surrounding a correlation between a patients' oral health and overall health, also known as the Mouth-Body Connection, has changed the way we operate as an organization and how our practices do dentistry. Pacific Dental Services Marks American Heart Month with Expanded Focus on Oral Health Awareness: According to the American Heart Association, heart disease has been the leading cause of death in the United States for the past century, claiming over 1,900 lives every day. While recent studies continue to show a strong link between oral health and the development of heart disease, awareness around this issue remains low. Pacific Dental Services and MemorialCare were recently honored with the 2024 “Excellence in Healthcare Collaboration” award from the Greater Irvine Chamber. The award recognized our joint initiative to enhance patient health by integrating dental and medical services under the same roof. Dr. Deepika Dhama (pictured second from the left) is the first PDS-supported practice owner to open a dental practice within a MemorialCare health center, completing the first co-located dental-medical practice in our partnership. We are proud to have had her represent PDS at the event!
