βUnlike fossil fuels, we have a nearly limitless source with bioethanol. Our work at POET is focused on getting as much from clean and renewable sources as possible." βJennifer Headman, Fermentation Manager at POET Research We're proud to have Jennifer on the POET team, using her expertise to help lead the way in harnessing the power of microbiology to create a brighter, more sustainable future! #POETproud
In the six years since its founding, ClearFlame Engine Technologies has modified diesel engines so they can run on low-carbon fuels like bioethanol, significantly cutting emissions in the process. We applaud ClearFlame for helping to lead the way toward climate-focused solutions with low-carbon bioethanol!
βWith growing inflation and gas prices back on the rise, Missourians deserve greater access to homegrown, renewable fuel blends like E15 and E85 that can save them money. This bill positions Missouri agriculture to play a key role in delivering greater fuel savings for consumers, dependable domestic markets for farmers, and robust economic growth for rural communities.β βSteve Murphy, General Manager at POET Bioprocessing β Laddonia We applaud Governor Mike Parson and the Missouri Legislature for passing House Bill 3 and signing it into law yesterday, bringing Missourians greater access to the benefits of biofuels! π
For farmers, fall means harvest β one of their busiest times of the year β and a large portion of the corn harvested will be used to produce bioproducts! POET alone purchases about 7% of the entire US corn crop annually to produce 3 billion gallons of bioethanol, 14 billion pounds of high-protein animal feed, and 975 million pounds of corn oil. We're proud to partner with more than 40,000 farmers across the Midwest to feed and fuel the world. Wishing all farmers a safe and happy harvest! π½ π
What goes great with a road trip in autumn? π Low-emission, Earth-friendly biofuels π± Bioethanol is a clean-burning, renewable alternative to fossil fuel. It's American-made, cuts drivers' greenhouse gas emissions, and reduces our dependence on foreign oil. Learn more at poet.com/biofuels. #ChooseBiofuels #BioIsBetter
Have you ever wondered what the different types of biofuels at the pump are made of? We'll break it down for you: π± E10 (Unleaded 87): A blend of 10% bioethanol β is the standard fuel used across the country. In other words, bioethanol already makes up 10% of the nationβs fuel supply, and you probably use it in your car every day. π± E15 (Unleaded 88): A blend of 15% bioethanol β is approved for use in all vehicles model year 2001 and newer. π± E20, E30, E85: These higher biofuel blends are typically utilized in FlexFuel vehicles. The more bioethanol in your fuel, the lower your carbon emissions and the happier the planet is! Visit poet.com/biofuels to learn more. #ChooseBiofuels
βI feel like now I have an understanding of what that industry looks like and what things I can take back into my classroom. I would recommend that any teacher who is looking to grow, they should find a place to do something like this. βAndy Kavanaugh, industrial technology teacher at Fort Dodge Senior High School POET Bioprocessing β Gowrie was proud to host Andy for his externship to learn what could be beneficial to bring back to his classroom to prep students for real-world experience!
POET began on a family farm in the 1980s and currently partners with more than 40,000 farmers across the country. Since day one, we've operated on the belief that we can get everything we need from the surface of the Earth rather than drilling to its center. Everything we can get from a barrel of oil, we can get from a bushel of corn β it's just a matter of biotechnology and economics. The next time you need to fuel up, consider choosing lower-cost, lower-carbon biofuels. It's a win-win-win for you, for agriculture, and for our planet. π½ Learn more about our mission at poet.com.
This week we celebrated Zero Emissions Day, which was established to give our planet a day off from emissions and pollution and encourage people to make more climate-friendly choices. A simple choice you can make to reduce emissions is fueling your vehicle with bioethanol at the pump. Bioethanol is affordable, better for human health, and reduces carbon emissions by up to 46% compared to traditional gasoline. Today and every day, let's support renewable energy, reuse and up-cycle items, and choose low-carbon fuels to preserve our planet! π
At POET, we're dedicated to cultivating tomorrow's leaders and field experts. In the past 10 years, we've grown our assortment of summer internships into a robust and comprehensive program attracting students from across the country. This year, we were proud to host 47 bright-minded young people across our network of corporate offices and bioprocessing facilities!
