Meet our next #PeopleOfPOET feature: Anna Andersen, Research Scientist in the Sioux Falls office! 🔬 "My favorite part about my job is the variety of things I get to work on. POET always has something new and exciting coming up, whether it’s new equipment I get to learn how to use or just learning all about the processing of producing bioethanol and corn oil. There is never a boring day at POET! I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to work across the board on projects — it’s a big variety that makes every day interesting. I enjoy being a part of the whole process because it gives me a big-picture perspective of what is going on at the plants.” Find out how you can join the POET team at poet.com/careers.
Since 2000, the number of deaths that can be attributed to ambient air pollution has increased by about 55% — from 2.9 million to 4.5 million. Researchers label the impact as the largest existential threat to human and planetary health. Bioethanol reduces GHG emissions by 46% compared to traditional gasoline, cutting down on smog and airborne toxins. Learn more at poet.com/biofuel.
This week we recognized #WorldOceanDay! Protecting our blue planet is vital to keeping our world — and therefore ourselves — alive. At POET, our goal is to achieve natural balance on land and sea by no longer taking from the Earth, but rather using its enormous ability to regenerate to create renewable biofuels and bioproducts. We all must do our part to preserve our oceans. Learn more about what you can do at the following link. 🌊
Americans have surpassed 30 billion gallons driven on E15! This summer, let's keep up the momentum by choosing to fuel with E15 (15% bioethanol), which reduces carbon emissions, currently saves up to $.60/gallon at the pump, and is approved for 96% of cars on the road today.
Meet our next #PeopleOfPOET feature: Marie Moran, Merchandising Manager at POET Bioproducts! 🌽 "I have been really fortunate and get to lead a team of five outstanding individuals. My team sells the wet, modified, and syrup to the local customer base around the plants. We mainly deal with the everyday farmer who picks up their feed at the plants." "I think one of my favorite parts is that personal connection we get to make with these farmers — we’re generally close to our plant locations, so we can travel and meet them face to face and really grow that relationship. I have a great relationship with a lot of my customers. I know their families and they know mine — it’s probably more pleasure than business. We check in on each other. I think that’s the coolest part of my job." Find out how you can join the POET team at poet.com/careers.

One year ago, we announced POET’s acquisition of six new bioethanol plants, bringing our annual production capacity to 3 billion gallons of bioethanol. Although we have grown significantly, our mission and focus have not changed, and we are proud of our incredible team and their work to change the world with even more clean, renewable bioproducts. #POETproud
“Over 97 percent of the cars on the road today can utilize E15 to save money at the pump. With gas prices at record highs, now more than ever, Americans need access to affordable, homegrown bioethanol.” –Joshua Shields, POET Senior VP of Government Affairs & Communications As we face challenges like inflation, energy security, and the climate crisis, biofuels like E15 really are a win-win-win for consumers.
Introducing our first #PeopleOfPOET feature: Andrew Baker, Senior Merchandiser for POET Bioproducts! 🌽 "I help manage and market Dakota Gold and other distillers grains for our four Indiana plants and support the Eastern corn belt. On the day-to-day, I am talking to customers, pricing our product, managing inventory, and talking to our plants in terms of what production looks like and our product availability. I’m putting together the puzzle of how we can garner the best value for our co-products as well as how we can best serve our customers. "What I like the most about my position is the customer connection and building relationships with our customers. I also value the daily interaction with my co-workers here in the office and at the bioprocessing locations. It’s a fast-paced atmosphere, which I enjoy, and makes it a fun and positive environment." Stay tuned to meet more of the people who make POET a great place to be! Find out how you can join the POET team at poet.com/careers.
