Winning in meat and seafood starts long before the product hits the case. In this fast-moving industry, it takes insight, partnership, execution—and a team that’s all in! Earlier this month, we welcomed our Meat and Seafood Managers to Carlisle for a high-impact day focused on performance, collaboration, and sharpening our edge for the second half of the year. Teams deepened their understanding of the industry and the forces shaping it like supply, quality, and evolving customer expectations. We also heard from valued supplier partners including Tyson, NAFCO, Cargill, and Hatfield, whose expertise helps bring the very best to our shelves. We celebrated our top 2025 performers (well deserved!), connected as a team, and yes—there was plenty of sampling along the way. Rounding out the day, President John Ruane challenged leaders to continue building a strong selling culture as we head into the back half of the year. Thank you to our Meat and Seafood merchandising team and supplier partners for making the day such a success. Join us in celebrating Josh Hudock who has been promoted to director of human resources! A team member for nearly 25 years, Josh began his career with GIANT as a cashier in 2001. Over the next two decades, Josh held a variety of operations and HR roles including regional training specialist, store manager, regional HR business partner, and divisional HR manager for the West Division. Most recently, Josh has served as the HR business partner for the support office. In his new role, Josh will be responsible for the HR function for our field operations, perishable distribution center, and support teams.

In a matter of weeks, this store was transformed into a space that reflects the heart of The GIANT Company. With enhanced departments, new décor, and convenient services like GIANT Direct and self-checkout, the Everett GIANT showcases our mission of delivering value, freshness, and kindness to every customer, every day. A big shout-out to everyone on the team who had a hand in today’s opening, especially Store Manager Wendy Evans and her team. The skills of our drivers were on full display at The GIANT Company's annual Driver Rodeo! Held each year, this competition tests their skills and, most importantly, safety, as they compete in a multi-step obstacle course. Last week, our 2026 Pharmacy Manager Meeting brought pharmacists from across our footprint to our support office for a day focused on connection, learning, and celebration. From networking and hearing directly from company leadership to reviewing industry trends, aligning on our strategy for the year ahead, and engaging with partners at our vendor fair, the energy throughout the day was both educational and inspiring. We also took time to recognize excellence through awards that honored the dedication, leadership, and caring service our pharmacy teams provide—a highlight of the day!
