Wednesday, February 25 was GIANT Night at the Hershey Bears game and the energy inside the GIANT Center ā and on the ice ā was electric! From the moment doors opened, fans were greeted with a foldable GIANT grocery tote (6,000 went fast!) and a concourse packed with fun including games, face-painting, giveaways, a photo booth, a DJ and more. GIANT team members were on hand to help out and talk to fans about career opportunities with us across the region. Rounding out the night, President of The GIANT Company John Ruane took to the ice to drop the first puck and later shared a message with the crowd about our long-standing partnership with the GIANT Center ā a relationship rooted in shared values and a commitment to supporting our local community. Itās been the GIANT Center since the doors opened in 2002, and weāre proud of the impact weāve made in the region, together. And, the Bears took home a W! š»šš
Black History Month is a time to celebrate and honor the impact and achievements of the Black community. This week, we hosted Nicobi Foods, LLC and 100 Coconuts, two Black-owned businesses, at our Union Deposit Harrisburg GIANT for a customer tasting event. With stories as unique as their products, our customers ā and team members ā loved sampling their soulfully inspired food and coconut water while learning more about each brand. Weāre honored to carry their products on our store shelves, and even more honored to work with Obi Linton, Nicole Linton, and Gregory Lowe II as we continue building a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
In this weekās Meet a Team Member Monday, say hello to Ganimete Gani Gashi, store manager at the GIANT in Coplay, Pennsylvania. Gani began her journey with The GIANT Company back in high school as a cashier in 2000. Over the years, sheās built an incredible career, working in departments across the store and taking on special projects, all of which have led to her current role. Gani aspires to be a role model for future generations, a value she learned from her mother, who taught her the importance of strong family bonds and meaningful relationships. With a personal mission to help others whenever and however she can, as a people leader, Gani is always striving to grow and support those around her to do the same. Her pinch-me moment? āBecoming a store manager is my proudest accomplishment. It represents not only my personal growth but also the trust the company placed in me to lead and inspire others. Iām incredibly grateful for the opportunities, mentorship, and support Iāve received at The GIANT Company. It truly feels like home, and Iām excited to continue making a difference for our team members, customers, and communities.ā Gani, thank you for inspiring us all with your heart and leadership!ā¤ļøšš¤ hashtag#LifeAtGIANT hashtag#MeetATeamMemberMonday hashtag#CareerGrowth hashtag#RetailGrocery
