Amery Moultry, Director, Enterprise Communications, shared what inspired him on his leadership journey: “My hobby of making fun videos in my spare time allowed me to keep crafting a skill that I was passionate about, but it also showed my creative side. I didn’t know this hobby would be so instrumental in me getting my current position. I love what I do -- it does not feel like work and it feels good to be able to share that with people who appreciate it.”

Thank you to Tameka McCabe, Clinical Intake Manager, who recently spoke at VNSNY’s Pre-Leader Foundations Development Program—a five-month program which explores key leadership skills ranging from executive presence to communication skills. Tameka shared her insights of what has inspired her on her leadership journey: “I have held many roles at VNSNY starting as Sr. Development Associate before returning to school and achieving my dream of becoming a nurse (and a Home Care RN with VNSNY). I’ve continued to seek learning opportunities recently participating in “The VNSNY Impact Challenge” for which employee teams developed proposals to address health disparities in various communities served by VNSNY. As a finalist, our team presented to senior leadership across the organization. It was a rewarding experience which really challenged me in many different and positive ways.”

"I see my role as that of a problem solver whose mission is to improve patients’ quality of life. I ask them about their life before the hospitalization, incident, or illness that they’re recovering from, what it is that they’d like to work on, and what I can do to make things easier on them and their family and/or caregivers. It’s really about easing the burden." -Teresa Martus, Occupational Therapist
