I submitted my application online via the Boots careers site and was required to complete an online assessment within 7 days. I completed this the same day and 2 days later, received an email alerting me that I have been invited to an interview. You can choose which day and time to book your interview for. On the day of the interview, I had to wait 30mins to see the interviewer (the branch manager). He asked very standard and typical questions, nothing memorable at all. He did however constantly bring up the fact that I have done a master's degree and would include it within many of his questions/responses. For example, at the end of the interview when I was given the opportunity to ask questions. I asked about the awarding of the NVQ - it was stated on the job description that you could get an NVQ Level 1 through undergoing the job as a trainee - and I wondered if there are opportunities to gradually work up the levels. He told me that they only offer Level 1 at the practice, then mentioned something about how a master's degree is much higher level than that. I thought this comment was unnecessary, and sounded as though it counts against me. I received an email two days after the interview telling me I was unsuccessful.
