Pros

You will get paid on time. Great place to learn. You will learn to swim in chaos and disorganization. The worker bees are pretty awesome people for the most part.

Cons

The CEO hires and fires in emotion not sound logic, he brought the company from making no money to making money. He did a fantastic job, but he cannot, nor will not ever be able to help or maintain the growth AFS needs in a way that can be beneficial to it's customers. Their customers know that AFS does not care about them. When I gave information and recommendations(on how to solve the software issues and client concerns) to the Director I was told I was not a fit for their organization. They were right. They have a 20 plus percent turnover rate for a reason. AFS wants to grow but most of the current leadership that has been there awhile does not have the insight or business knowledge on how to do it.

Pros

AFS pays more than the industry standard. Previous ERP management was good. Implementations had a good sense of teamwork.

Cons

They are willing to lie to save face and will throw anybody under the bus. Current management is notyincompetent, but shows an utter lack of respect or consideration for their employees. Many of the key individuals have either been let go for questioning methods and refusing to lie or have left of their own volition. Employees are overworked with an expectation of 7 day work weeks and being available even on the rare occasions vacation is approved. Customers in implementations do not have experienced consultants, but rather graduates fresh out of college irrelevant of their major. Minimal or no training is provided and all employees are too overwhelmed with saving their own skin to help each other. If I could rate areas with negative stars I would.

My company was acquired by AFS. The company survives, but the soul is gone.

Pros

The workforce, pay, benefits and workplace are not bad (thanks to previous local management). The day to day job is not bad. Still surfing on the energy and good mood injected by previous local management.

Cons

Terrible, terrible upper management. More concerned about the bottom line and cramming more companies in the AFS portfolio to resell the whole thing than to keep employees happy/productive and customers satisfied. Upper management built of control freaks that won't consider anyone's opinion, whatever their expertise. To be sure, they surrounds themselves with equally incompetent people. Upper management meddles in and try to control everything including cell phone contracts, development, IT, meeting organization. They believe that any problem can easily be solved just by throwing a few more out-shored resources at it. HR are completely overwhelmed by all the rushed acquisitions and the accompanying bad decisions and make way too many mistakes. All aspects suffer: insurance, payroll, pension plans, tax receipts, travel bookings, expense reports... Everything has to be done twice and checked three times. Individual careers are a total non-concern, everyone is just a pawn.
