Pros

LoyaltyOne has a very strong corporate culture of collaboration and teamwork. Despite title or seniority within the organization, everyone is friendly and willing to lend a hand when needed. They have competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes summer hours, tuition reimbursement and extra air miles as recognition. Due to the size of the organization, there is a lot of opportunity to grow your career at LoyaltyOne and even try new departments and areas within the business. Great work-life balance, including the ability to work from home when needed.

Cons

Due to the need to continually strive to be better and stay ahead of competition, changes in the organization take place which can include restructuring. LoyaltyOne has done a good job of maintaining its strong culture throughout the changes, but it can be hard to see good people leave as a result of change.

Pros

Summer hours policy - can choose to work a bit later during Monday-Thursday but leave after half-day on Friday (does not always work out though) Ping-pong table, gym on site, subsidized cafeteria Personally I did not work overtime except on a few occasions, maybe it was different for some other employees

Cons

I was looking for a specific job and from the interview the job seemed to match my skills and what I was looking for. The actual job turned out to be not the same and it was not as challenging/interesting as I thought it would be. Therefore I think it was misleading for the company to describe specific projects that you could get to work on in the interview and not say the truth about the position.

Pros

The health benefits were good, the pay was okay for the position I held. Computer loans, gym membership costs and some tuition reimbursement were available. Vacation is prorated based on how long you've worked there. Some employees get as many as 4 weeks off. Every one has the option to purchase up to 3 more.

Cons

Promotions at my level were non existent. Progression was always a struggle and contingent to a great degree on how well you knew whom. The corporate culture also evolved from a fun place to work to a very ruthlessly focused on achieving objectives no matter the cost, human or otherwise. There's a great show made of listening to employees but their needs were never a priority.
