Pros

The salary was adequate at the time.

Cons

They were bought out by a bigger company and fired a lot of good people to match a new headcount.

Thank you for your review. Let me be clear that we have not been bought out or sold. On October 13, 2021, it was announced that the LoyaltyOne segment of Alliance Data Systems (ADS), which includes AIR MILES, would become its own independent publicly traded company called, Loyalty Ventures Inc. This is not a buy-out but rather a spin-off. This has been in the works for some time and will finally come to fruition on November 8, 2021. You can learn more about this in the following press release: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/alliance-data-board-approves-spinoff-of-loyalty-ventures-inc-301399686.html?tc=eml_cleartime As you can appreciate, AIR MILES is undergoing a period of change and we are investing resources in areas of growth. As a result, we have needed to make some tough decisions. The changes we are making will allow us to continue to fully align the work being initiated and delivered with business priorities that drive the most value. We are excited about the opportunities this reorg has created for Associates and about our ability to deliver enhanced experiences and capabilities for our Collectors and Partners. Thank you again for providing feedback. Wishing you the best in your career. Dimitri Benak VP, People and Culture

Pros

We always hear folks having trouble with their employers or their team not been accommodating to life during pandemic. But that's not the case with Loyalty One. With a very tough year personally, I did not think I will be able to make it. But thanks to my employer and team, I have sustained. Pros- 1. Team members are very compassionate, empathetic and cognizant of the fact that life exists beyond our work and that kids, pets, back ground noises are part of that life. 2. Being part of same team can be monotonous, but the various projects spice it up 3. Various growth opportunities, for both horizontal and vertical growth 4. Employee engagement programs are always on, each week. It really helps to see that there are right folks employed to take care of the digital presence and interaction within organization 5. I 100% approve of our President & CEO Blair Cameron. We have seen more of him post pandemic than pre pandemic times and I approve of this. It is so easy to lose touch, but glad that he makes effort and that shows that he cares. 6. All the policies are on point - security, ethics, cultural, etc. 7. Benefits - I appreciate SO much the benefits that L1 provides. They are one the best in organizations of this tier.

Cons

Working from a different country- This is the only Con I have experienced. We have been stuck in our homes since pandemic hit. I have had personal losses that I would like to heal on. Unfortunately, like other Canadian employers, L1 doesn't allow folks to work from out side North America. This has been a very challenging aspect. I wish the organization really takes a step up on this and allows its employees to work from places they prefer, as long as they can guarantee a quality and safe technical infrastructure. If that is not an option, then perhaps start a conversation if employees can have a longer vacation period. It is pretty depressing to not be able to meet family and support them emotionally

Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective; we appreciate your feedback and I know people value hearing from current Associates. The well-being of our Associates is our top priority and as COVID-19 evolved into a global health concern, we knew we had to not only reimagine where and how work would get done, but also how to drive engagement and empower our teams, while supporting their mental and physical health. I am so glad to hear that you feel supported by the programs and resources we offer. At AIR MILES we have an advantage in that we own the largest data assets in Canada – it’s how we drive value for our Customers and Partners. We know that work will never be the same, even if we don’t yet know all the ways in which it will be different. What we do know, is that we do not currently have controls in place to monitor data privacy and security outside of Canada. For obligations on data residency, security, and privacy, we require all Associates to work within Canada, even while working within a remote capacity. I know you can understand the utmost importance we place on keeping our data secure. Thank you again for your review; I appreciate all that you do. Dimitri Benak VP, People and Culture

Pros

- amazing pay/benefits - solid culture - they look after employees well - great work/life balance - low stakes/very chill job

Cons

- low stakes/very chill job - benchmark for great work is set very low - maintaining the way things work vs. innovating + freshening up approaches to things - very out of touch executive/management. Big "ok boomer" energy - Air Miles is a dying loyalty program that is not well-suited to compete with new entrants to the space they've solely operated in for over 25 yrs. Your job might come with an expiry date.

Thank you for your leaving a review. There’s a reason we’re recognized as one of the best places to work year after year: we have an amazing culture thanks to the collaboration, dedication, and fun that our teams bring to work every day. Work-life balance is a priority at our organization and appreciate that you had that experience while working with us. With our expertise in loyalty program management, collector intelligence and collector engagement, AIR MILES is made up of the brightest and best, bringing business, technology, marketing and analytics together in order to make thoughtful, innovative decisions from all perspectives. Associate expectations of working for a leading-edge, digitally savvy company are always top of mind and we are excited about the direction we are heading in, and for what’s to come. Most recently, we embarked on a transformative journey to modernize our Travel business systems to create a best-in-class, digital-first experience with scalability for future growth and expansion. We have exciting plans on our 2022 agenda - many of which are a direct result of input from our Associates. Regarding your feedback about the executive and management teams, at AIR MILES we prioritize Leadership and Executive development, consistently investing in training and development programs to ensure our people continue to be innovative so we stay on top of industry trends. Last year we took steps to implement Leadership Key Performance Objectives to measure leadership effectiveness, along with a leadership survey to solicit Associate feedback regarding leadership and to ensure we continue to learn as an organization. We know that developing our people is critical for increasing engagement, fostering our culture and enhancing performance, which in turn drives our results and growth as an organization. I appreciate you leaving a review and wish you all the best in your career. Dimitri Benak VP, People and Culture
