The hours they want salary employees to work is way too much, you can't have a life if you want to work at Alpla.

Thanks for your advice. I totally agree that training will help all employees to move up. Actually ALPLA is implementing a new Internal Mobility Program in order to promote within in all areas. On the other hand, ALPLA is already training and promoting technicians to supervisors, and supervisors to managers. Working at ALPLA can be challenging: being a growing company, there are always new customers, new developments, new products and new challenges. ALPLA is very fortunate to count on such dedicated and engaged employees at all times. However, ALPLA tries its best to balance the employees' work and personal life.

Alpla has the best health plan I've had since the military.

Long hours, micro management, disrespectful management staff, and employees are under appreciated.

Friendly people, willing to help, if they aren't overwhelmed with work. Casual work environment; uniforms provided.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations with extremely long work days (not communicated during the interview process). 6-7 day work weeks are normal for salaried personnel. Lacks work life balance. Pay is well below market.

Thank you for your comment! We are glad that you enjoyed the casual work environment and had fun working with your team! Also, we would like to apologize for the inconveniences! Since January we were able to solve the problem of a lacking work life balance by making several changes in the management. We at ALPLA are convinced that a healthy balance between work and leisure time is inevitable for great performances. What is more, the 401K plan which matches 100% up to the 6% employee’s contribution is actually seldom in our industry. Nevertheless, we still keep working on improving our compensation program in order to satisfy all our employee’s needs.
