Pros

Fun working environment with friendly employees that make coming to work enjoyable.

Cons

Fairly new company that isn’t fully established and will benefit a lot more with more structure. Communication is non-existent and the training process in my experience was confusing which makes the job more challenging. Nepotism occurs every single day in this company. Policies and procedures get swept under the carpet for the favorites. Rumors and gossip galor. If you’re looking for a professional and structured company that cares about your growth and success in a company and one that wants to help you succeed, this is not the company for you. Benefits are incredibly expensive and for a family plan expect to pay close to $1,000. No sick time off, only 10 days of PTO, and they won’t even compensate you for jury duty. No 1-1 meetings with managers/directors to catch up on work, goals, performance, etc.

Accel Entertainment Response

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. While we are very glad to hear that you enjoy coming to work in a fun environment with friendly co-workers, we are sorry to hear that some of your experiences at Accel fell short of your expectations. Please know that Accel’s paid time off benefits are competitive with many other companies in the workforce as it is very common to combine “vacation time” and “sick time” into one bucket of “paid time off.” We value all employee feedback and take all comments seriously. If you would like to share more about your experiences, please contact us by emailing "HR-Recruit&Retain@accelentertainment.com" so that we can set up a time to talk. Thank you again for your candid feedback. It helps us make Accel Entertainment a better place to work.

Pros

The video gaming entertainment industry is growing, and at the time it was exciting to get my feet wet and support the Marketing department in its various endeavors. I had autonomy in some of my responsibilities and barely felt micromanaged. I had friendly and supportive superiors, the executive team was knowledgeable and the employees were fun to get along. I learned a lot about the industry, and direct marketing. However, it only lasted for so long.

Cons

The hiring team really misled me when they recruited me for the position. I thought I was going to be an integral member of the Marketing department, and instead, I felt like an assistant TO the Marketing Coordinator. They also failed to let me know that there would be manual labor involved, at least 50% of my time, weekly. I'm sorry, but that's not what I went to school for, and not what I want to concentrate my valuable efforts in. Towards the end of my employment, I felt that I was doing more administrative and miniscule tasks than valuable marketing efforts. My responsibilities with social media were extremely limited and nothing to brag about and I was never given the opportunity to handle tasks that would eventually get me to a manager position, such as managing the department budget. My two superiors would never get me involved during important talks. Assistant Marketing Coordinator? More like Assistant TO THE Marketing Coordinator.

Pros

There are zero pros do not work here.

Cons

They promise you a lot of things when you get hired that you will never see. Worked for the company for over 5 years and treated like absolute garbage there is a reason the turnover rate is so high.
