No involvement in Management

Pros

I grew fast so I could make more money.

Cons

At almost 5 years I threw in my white towel. I became the lead of the Shred Center in Washington, NJ. I created a great track record and had some quality, but limited resources of information around me (People who are knowledgable, mechanically inclined) I sacrificed my body and my time because I genuinely believed in Access and thought hard work pays off. Due to the minimal involvement and leadership from my Ops Supervisor (two tiers above and located in a different building), I was worn down to the ground and they could not even hire decent people. It was easy for them to say that they did not put production pressure on, which is true, but I strive for excellence and want to be better every day. Management was faced with the challenge with a great employee, strong drive, and high-level knowledge of the million-dollar operation, but obviously would not pay me for that. I received two raises during while I was the Shred Lead. The first one was just after the "pandemic" started and it was minimal and I understood. I worked even harder, became even better, and arguably ran the best shred center nationally, and internationally. Was production the highest?....no.....because I didn't have adequate leadership or help. My last national phone call I was a part of, the guys at the top put together a slide showcasing the condition of the Washington Shred Center. Phrases like "tour ready", "immaculate", and "eat off the floors" was used. When I had my second flawless review as a Shred Center Lead, I was compensated at the lowest possibly raise given. I immediately said this was no ok and said I would not be at Access anymore. 6 weeks later, I quit. It was evident that management was not a fan of me because I was not a fan of their leadership style. REACH is not practiced there, especially "Accountability" It takes a tornado to hold someone accountable. The transportation supervisor did not document an incident by a driver, then it popped on the drivers record, the driver was questioned, the supervisor lied and said he knew nothing, and the driver lost his job. I reported this to the Senior Market Leader and nothing happened. There was no shock. Regardless if the driver would have lost his job anyway, the supervisor failed to do his, and a good employee was lost due to a mistake. I reported all this with HR before I left and I hope accountability was taken with the mismanagement and poor leadership that is in place. I am so much happier that I am out of that dark, body crushing warehouse.

Dead End Job

Pros

The benefits are just okay. You can get by on them but always be looking for a better employer while you work for Access. The company does not track every second of your day (yet anyway) like an Amazon warehouse would. Two 15 minute paid breaks per day are technically allowed.

Cons

Managment is largely incompetent and ineffective. Women are not expected to do more than 1% or so (possibly even less) of the physical labor even thoigh they are the vast majority of the employees.

Not a Family

Pros

There are a few good people in the company.

Cons

Pay is not competitive. Hard workers get taken advantage of regularly. They are values are really just mild suggestions. Leadership does not follow/work by them. To move up, you either have to be willing to work harder for less pay, or you have to be "buddy-buddy" with the person/people that will be your boss.
