Pros

Flexible work schedules Supportive coworkers and management team Casual dress code Paid on the job training Monthly fun events and social hours On site fitness center, cafeteria, and coffee shop (+Ferris wheel and rock wall!)

Cons

Lack of transparency about potential career paths and correlating salaries Mothers rooms are available, but a bit cringey in comparison to the rest of the building. Annual raise is based off of time at company, rather than skill level/quality of work

Pros

The culture at Acuity is incredible. Most outsiders would be surprised that an insurance company based in Wisconsin could be such a great place to work. I was skeptical about the hype throughout the recruiting process, but it lives up to all of its "Best Place to Work" awards. The leadership, especially the CEO, seems to be genuinely interested in employee happiness, so they invest a ton of money and effort in social events, random little gifts and all sort of stuff to make it a fun environment and to keep reminding people that they're valued. Definitely more perks and a greater focus on employee happiness than any other place I've worked. The little amount of negativity seems mostly to come from people who've worked at Acuity for a long time (or have only ever worked at Acuity) and maybe don't recognize what they have. As for the work itself, my team is filled with strong performers, which makes office life easier, and leadership seems to be well respected. I haven't run into many people who seem like they are overworked, though I know some departments are more stretched than others. I can't speak for all managers, but mine is excellent and a big part of the reason why I joined Acuity. Overall compensation is good, especially compared to cost of living. Benefits are super rich, flex time is nice, and the home office is an amazing building. It helps that the company is stable and growing steadily, which has the added benefit of room for promotions and career growth. The community outreach is impressive, and it's nice to work for a company that's donating to local hospitals, schools, food banks, charities, fire departments, and on and on. No job is perfect, but working here is tough to beat.

Cons

Low turnover can be a blessing and a curse. Some have the classic "it's always been done this way" attitude, but they're generally not in leadership positions, so it's more of an annoyance than a real obstacle in most cases. Also, Sheboygan is definitely homogenous, but it'd be nice to see more diversity.
