Beware of company's "NextGen" / "Vision 2020" strategy

- Relatively good benefits: 401K matching, still has a pension plan, bonus opportunities - Many are given the opportunity to work @ home, at least part time - Hartford, CT offices are nice, good on-site gym, good cafeteria - Mark Bertolini, CEO, is an amazing leader, speaker and motivator; he is attempting to set Aetna on the right path

Cons

- Despite CEO's efforts, his leadership team does not know how to execute on his vision - Management does not listen to those underneath them; they continue to follow "tried and true" processes and are incapable of changing the way they think or operate - A culture of "bad news is not OK", "don't say 'no'", management elitism, and "blame the scape-goat"

You can work at home.

Cons

They only offer High deductible HSAs and they reduced the 401k match from 6% to 5 %. They took away the tuition pay back and the day after Thanksgiving is no longer a company holiday so most employees will have to work that day. No more MLK day either, instead they give you floating holidays and who knows when they will take them away. The dental insurance premium doubled from when it was Aetna. The raises are only 1 % per year and you don’t get one the first year you work there. I wish Aetna would have just stayed Aetna without CVS.

since the early retirement offer to employees last fall anyone who declined has a target on them do not go to HR if there is an problem they are not there for the employees do not apply if your are not a younger person that applies to those applying from outside and to those applying to positions internally to quote the CEO Hartford Courant - 06/22/2017 In his first public comments since Aetna announced it will move its headquarters out of Hartford, CEO Mark Bertolini says it will leave in search of "younger people, technologists, innovation"
