Pros

The job is meaningful, we affected patients lives. It is a fascinating job, real time and real people were being touched.

Cons

12 hour shifts, usually understaffed. Too many calls to handle, lots of MANDATORY overtime and MAJOR stress. QA would kill you and they were so picky about the crap minor details, but it could get you disciplined, it was definitely punitive and very demoralizing. They kept changing assigned hospitals, and moving our resources. Mistakes are made when you don't know your hospital's requirements well. Mistakes can cost lives. Breaks would be put on hold when the call volume was too high. If you don't get your break you're working for free, and no lunch break, you eat at your desk. They don't pay enough for all the stress and all the crap. Doctors call just to chew you out, and your phone line is recorded so you gotta take it. They treat people like cattle. Leadership could be condescending at times, which is how to discourage people from asking for help. It was a very punitive atmosphere.

Pros

Huge market share, equipment is fairly new, and medical guidelines while aren't cutting edge, but they are with the times and conservative. Good benefits, average pay. Love my co-workers. Can make a huge difference for patients.

Cons

Local management great, love my base, upper management- well just horrible, disconnected from our job, famous for ridiculous knee-jerk reactions to minor issues. The company has grown way way too fast for its management style. They like to roll out new idea / websites without really working thru issues prior. The corporate is just a mess, I can't speak to what happens there, but from the ground level it is a mess. So much talk, so little actual work or proof from leadership.
