      Pros

      With an MS in Management Science I was able to work on a computer with Oracle, Microsoft Word and Excel to meet monthly budget by billing, filling warranty claims, calling for collections, appointments, etc. Location was near hometown, Auburn. I worked with 1-manager, two supervisors, rental agent, salesmen, and 13 hydraulic technicians. Got a raise every year for 14-years.

      Cons

      Teamwork requires everyone on the team doing their share. Reaching salary bracket meant no further raises and there was no path to promotion.

      Good money, excellent benefits, hones good people to work for and with if I hadn't wanted to move out of state would've been an awesome place to retire from

      Cons

      Generally the only and at least the fastest way to get in is through imko an employment office and you have to start out on nights

      Pros

      + People, Altec is proud of its family like environment. You feel at home. + Great for intern: you can easily get involved in other departments since the offices are connected. You can always ask to help on different assignments and you will be assisted along the way + You will most likely have to get your hands dirty and understand how to use basic tools, all the way to attaching hoses and welding. This is a very important skill for engineers but surprisingly not everyone knows this + You matter to them, as a coop. Altec wants to have loyal coops and currently has many engineers who were offered their jobs after a coop rotation or two, even more.

      Cons

      - Not exceptionally high tech
