      No Work/Life Balance What-So-Ever

      Pros

      Love the work I do each and every day; I work with a great team.

      Cons

      Expects more and more for less; Nurses are expected to work 50-60 hours per week; Nurses are on call 8-9 days a month in addition to working 40+ hours per week; Nurses are expected to work a full day with little to no sleep after being on-call; However, if management helps overnight, they do not work a full day the next day; Our care center has been short two nurses for months with no help offered from corporate or other care centers; I took a PTO day and was expected to do the see all my patients in 4 days instead of 5; Nurses are frequently asked to do unnecessary work, such as double-charting and recompleting forms that have already been done; My current job is wrecking havoc on my health and my family

      Amedisys cares about their stock price not their patients!

      Pros

      Advancement is available but unfortunately they put people in management positions that don’t have leadership skills and creates a toxic environment

      Cons

      The bigger they get with all their acquisitions -only senior leadership benefit with huge salaries and bonuses and instead of sharing with the employees on the front lines making a difference in patients and families lives they take away benefits and truly should do more for their employees. Bigger is not better. Their is something more special about private companies and how they care more about their patients and employees but they are getting all bought up by Amedisys and that hurts all of us.

      strong committed clinicians who are dedicated and supportive to one another

      Cons

      disorganized no longer focussed on patient care clinicians not allowed to determine the treatment plan, it is based on a computer system and financials with no room for discussion director is unprofessional, manipulative, generally disliked and not respected by staff and known to target employees and retaliate, pushes ethical boundaries and patient rights to achieve financial and personal goals
