Pros

Free flights, hours to make $$, downtime to snooze, hot females in the terminal, good shifts once you have some senority, jobs work and the top pay is 32$ p/hr after 10 years

Cons

Management is crap, the union has totally sold out to managers & lack cojonès. Force you to download an app that tracks you wherever you go, rats/snitches all over the place kissing a-- to Management, the new contract is crap and did I mention the union is spineless & full of sell outs? Many would read this and say "he's bitter, he's salty" well this is what giving 15 years to a company that gives a rats a-- about their employees can do. Beware of anyone that calls themselves part of Management or ever says the phrase "I want to be part of Management one day" rats in the making

Pros

A few nice coworkers that really care and help. Not many though.

Cons

American has a horrible training program. It's rushed and doesn't prepare you for real work there. The customers are rude and think they are entitled to everything. Other company departments meant to help you are nasty and patronizing. You're basically on your own for everything. The pay is very very low. Fast food workers get paid more. Flight benefits sound good but you will never have time to travel. You must work mandatory overtime everyday, whether you are forced to pick it, or they force it upon you. Your schedule is assigned to you after like 500-600 people pick the best ones. Seniority is everything and most people working there have been there for 30+ years. Which means you are nothing to the company. That's why they hire like 700 people to do your same job in the same city. They provide nothing to work at home except for a cheap headset. No computer, monitors, or anything. They don't use modern technology and everything is antiquated. It's a giant lie, do not fall for it. There are better paying jobs out there where you don't have to deal with horrible micromanagement and a terrible attendance policy. Run away.

Pros

Free flights, Somewhat of a diverse company. Good benefits.

Cons

The pay is not there. Everything is based off seniority. When you first start working you’re on probation and you can’t miss work so if you have anything planned they will not work with you. The attendance policy not the best. You’re always working so you really can’t go on free flights. And the free flights are not really free they’re just standby so if there’s no open seats you can’t get on the plane. Some people have been there very long and do not like change. And some people are very passive aggressively racist. You don’t make that much in their sub airline which is envoy gets paid 17 which is more than the mainline. Also there’s a union in the union really doesn’t help, there’s never any information or any updates from the union not a lot of support but if you need a union rep there is one but that’s about it. Also the training is not the best American did this thing where they try to train everyone at the same time and some people didn’t get the same training as others. And senior agents can be rude and act like they don’t want to help you. Can be very toxic. If you’re young watch out because these are older people and they tend to have older people habits and mindsets and stuck on their ways.
