Pros

Well intentioned, mission driven colleagues. Truly caring volunteers.

Cons

Arrogance and egotistical nature of the CEO. Unethical, racist behavior on the part of the CEO. Disconnect with local/community level needs and volunteers in general. Inconsistent policies for across divisions and in some cases individual staff.

Pros

Not many pros left except for some of the amazing staff in the field and there are few field staff left.

Cons

Toxic workplace culture and morale, self-serving leadership, a laughable strategy that is not executed with any timeline, leadership, or teamwork. They work in silos and then claim that this is a group effort to bring the ADA back to their glory days. Here's an idea, bring back the people that made it great. The ADA use to raise over $250 million, we were truly mission-driven and leadership cared about the field staff. Now it's a "mean girls club" from the CEO to the Divisional VP, the Managing Directors, and on and on it goes. If they don't like you or you stand up for something you believe, you better start packing your bags because they come after you. How the organization has not been reported for staff abuses and mismanagement is beyond me. Most likely it's because the HR department is part of the "club" and literally takes the side of these women and cut you down until you leave. Mission, new ideas, and concerns are often disregarded and you're looked at as having a bad attitude if you bring them forward.

Pros

Pros - reasonable work-life balance, talented colleagues and teams, committed volunteers, working for a worthwhile cause that has the potential to make a profound impact.

Cons

Cons - lack of strategic leadership and vision from C-Suite; archaic finance systems and reporting; lack of achievable goals; too few committed volunteers, constituents and donors; transactional fundraising strategies; and a culture of infighting, mistrust, bullying, gossip, and secrecy.
