Been with American Woodmark for almost three years. Many opportunities to advance if you show the willingness and ability to do so. Training is exceptional and is always ongoing. Managers have an open door policy and use it anytime you need help with any issue. Pay is great for the area and hardly any shortage on hours.

Cons

Some issues don't get resolved as quickly as they could and sometimes supervisors and managers are too lenient when it comes to punishment.

Career Orientation and Development (COD) Program

Pros

The company has an amazing culture of caring and candor! During orientation week we were able to meet the CEO as well as the entire executive staff. The company makes sure that you are fed during the entire process and they do a good job at taking care of all of your travel and living expenses. You receive a complete overview of the entire company and it gives you a big picture idea of how everything works together. The company places great value on its employees and I really enjoy the sincerity of it.

Cons

The downside to the COD program is that you have absolutely no idea of where you will be placed after you complete the program until the final month. Its really difficult to plan ahead as far as living and personal arrangements to accommodate your preferences.
