Pros

The organization is filled with friendly, well-meaning and supportive individuals. I had only good experiences interacting with both my peers and superiors.

Cons

When I worked the curriculum was poorly developed, filled with computational errors, and excessively rigid in a way which often made it difficult to meet individual needs, which both tutors and students found frustrating. There was also seemed to be a bit of disorganization and excessive turnover within the administration. The requirement of many additional volunteer hours outside the actual math tutoring hours in order fulfill the general Americorps volunteer requirements was often difficult and inconvenient.

Pros

Great experience and I loved working with the kids.

Cons

While experience was valuable, the living stipend was low. This is not a position you get to pay your bills. I didn't agree with a few of the goals they had for me to complete in addition to tutoring the students. I would have preferred to just focus on tutoring the kids. Hours were difficult to limit to part-time.
