      Pros

      Passionate staff (for the most part), great mission, some flexible hours.

      Cons

      Cutthroat work environment - my manager and coworker were stealing my ideas and passing them off as their own left and right. Felt completely invisible and unrecognized in Greater MN. People based in the metro have far more advancement opportunities. Disorganized and lacking structure.

      Ageism MNice culture, biased white Admin /mgmt of mostly poor, bipoc grunts called VOLUNTEERS with a small stipend who are the EXPENDABLES, AMPACT DOESN'T INVEST IN IT'S VOLUNTEERS IT JUST PRESSURES MIDDLE INEXPERIENCED,, POORLY TRAINED MGRS/ SUPVRS to DISCARD NOT MENTOR OR VALUE VOLUNTEERS . AND, OF COURSE THESE MMà have no life experience to evaluate/ appreciate,/ develop,/recognize one's value & contribution. Only to discard, not even to find a good fit for volunteers.

      Pros

      Being a positive part of community. Being able to see impact and be a role model and support system to youth. Training is compressive. Great for a new start in a community.

      Cons

      Must follow scripts. not a career. Not valued/respected by some teachers. Requires a lot of compassion for struggling students.
