      Pros

      Learning about the components and functions of different parts of the railroad and the traveling opportunities were great! Meet new people was a big plus and made it easier to learn about other cultures and ethics.

      Cons

      The co workers were sometimes very hard to get along with, and the conditions where the assignments were given was not very good at the time. There was also a great deal of people who were considered favorites and caused lots of problems.

      Pros

      If you want to work for a government type agency, or like traveling by train this could be a good place for you.

      Cons

      Command and control, distrustful, and unprofessional management. Lofty ideas with the inability to execute appropriately. Disrespectful of staff, typical high school behavior...very sad. Culture is referred to and desirable behaviors are listed but not adhered to.

      Pros

      Good salary, health benefits and travel perks. The job was easy to learn and maintain. I worked there from 1993-1998 until I took a company buyout. I starter out at the Reservations Center and then ended my career at the L.A Station. I adored the station but was unable to hold a job there due to my seniority otherwise I would've never left.

      Cons

      Some of the management could've used a refresher course in training and people skills.
