      Opportunities are good, People are slow & inefficient, Organizational Structure is top-heavy

      Pros

      Free train travel, especially in the north-east is a huge plus.

      Cons

      People and processes are inefficient and slow. Very little accountability. Way too many managers, directors, business heads, etc. and very few work horses to do the grunt of the work. Growth is based on others retiring or quitting and rarely on personal strength. Thereby, people in leadership are in high positions because of lack of choice rather than personal strength.

      Pros

      The people here are like one big family and they are friends and not just coworkers. You feel like you are really doing something to make the country better.

      Cons

      It would be good to have more support from Congress.

      Some good, some bad, most frustrating

      Pros

      Travel is hugely discounted, if not free. Excellent health coverage for union employees. Tuition reimbursement program. It's possible to start in a low position and work your way up into a true career job.

      Cons

      MAJOR disconnect between the Northeast Corridor and everywhere else in the country. Very difficult for women to be taken seriously by the "old heads" and their managers. Us vs them mentality between union and management. Very difficult to fire or keep those that are fired from being rehired due to technicalities and/or friendships with senior managers.
